Yeah,That was her telling me "Wait 'till I get home and get this on facebook" :giggle: And sure what else could she do,laughing and taking the p*** out of me seemed the better option, otherwise it might have been :punch: for me.

If you want to take a gamble, then disconnect the alternator and flush the salt water out of it with clean water. You may get lucky.

I got an alternator from a breakers,I'll use it and in the meantime I'll get old one reconditioned so as when the replacement calves I 'll switch them over.

I used the Mr Muscle method and it works, turbo now operating. Will give it a good blast tomorrow and see if all is well.ON another note, after I had done the job,and decided to pump it into the EGR,it was very mucky but the Mr Muscle worked it's magic,I read down through the whole thread and it says don't do this. Why? I wondered,so I read the can and it states on the tin not to use on aluminium.    RTFT I'm building a new garage for the prizes in stupidity

Oh christ man...... thats not ideal!

Back to the breakers for EGR.

But I'm curious as to what'll happen to the aluminium. So I'll let it sit for awhile.Maybe spray a little on an old bit of aluminium I have lying about to see what happens.

It will most likely cause it to oxidise and corrode, get a white bubbling over the areas affected.
