Best cheap way to shine up a black vrs

Featured Replies

As it says in title. What is the best way to polish up the old girl? I've got some of that mantis scratch remover, can I use that as a polish? Seems to work ok

You will need a polish to go over that. Poorboys black hole is really good for dark cars and it helps to hide some swirls.

Then top it off with wax, like poor boys natty wax

Ann ok brilliant, isn't that stuff hard to find?

Not really, order from their website

Will be interested to see what you think of it willmag as I've just ordered some too for mine.

Ahh cool thanks dark hero :) oh the poor boys or the mantis BJB?

Black hole is a great product that gives great results and at

a sensible price. Nattys blue is good too. I literally apply my nattys by

fingertips direct to paint and it's all I can do to not lick it off my fingers

afterwards, not the best wax out there but a very easy one to use.

It smells lovely.

PS, chuck the mantis in the bin, black hole will do the same job but safer

on your clear coat.

Ok cool, won't be using that again then! Is it nattys blue wax lads? Found a package on eBay....1 black hole bottle, pot of nattys blue wax and 2 free (woooooow) applicators

The poorboys black hole glaze will mask the paint defects like no other on a black car.

Id then seal it with a wax to make it last a bit longer as after a couple of washes its back to swirly paint

Yup, nattys blue.

They've also brought out a liquid version in a squeezy bottle but

I haven't used that so can't comment.

+1 for PB Black Hole, I top it off usually with Collinite 845 Insulator Wax, longevity and beading here we come!!

I use NattyBoys stuff myself. Can't fault it and the prices are decent

I apply the wax with my fingers like grrr666 does, as it's really easy to use and tastes great

Depends on how bad the paint is. Pictures would help!

But black hole will hide some swirls, it doesn't fill them all. You would be better off using a dedicated polish rather than a glaze

Well its got a few shallow scratches and is looking a wee bit flat, but hasn't faded or anything. The worst bits are the rear bumper, COVERED in scuff marks from previous owner and the bonnet has a weird swirl mark and many small stone chips. I would upload pics, but i have no idea how!! tried many a time!
