Octavia Mk2 Scout Upgrade to Bolero

Featured Replies

Am surprised your CD changer isn't working. When I went from stream to bolero the CD changer in the boot still worked without any issues - just plug and play. My Scout was a 58 plate.

Ok, I had to break this up a bit, so no "quoting".......

Couple of questions.

  • Miss the visual parking aid - what needs to be done to get it working again - I'm guessing a new controller perhaps?
    • If a new controller is required, how do I know what to get and how do I change it

There is a box called PolarFis+ which does the job on Columbus, but it's a very feature-laden box, £200 ish, and requires MaxiDot to work.

You can upgrade from PDC to OPS, there are a couple of guides on here on how to do that (new sensors, wiring, connecting to different part of the CANBus). If you're going to do it, might as well go bit and do the front as well. ;)

  • CD changer - can this be made to work with the Bolero unit?
    • Is this possible? Can it be done via VCDS?

Just out of interest: why do you want to do this? Bolero takes SDCard, and the CD unit in the changer reads MP3 CDs for all 6 slots. Why are you after another 6 CDs? :S

When I got my Bolero, I found that it was his and miss as to whether it would drive the boot-changer or not. I was lucky, but still never used it.

Any help with the questions would be greatly appreciated.

How much are you prepared to spend getting these functions to work?

You could go for Columbus and PolarFis (if you have MaxiDot) and get everything working, and maybe even RVC, BT and DAB into the mix as well. Since this first went around, Columbus has become cheaper, and will open more doors for more toys too ;)
