Mortyy's monte carlo project

Featured Replies

Hi!

So.. Ive read several different project journals here on briskoda. And guys! Im stoked.. You guys know your stuff!

So, lets just say that you have inspired me to do some mods of my own!

Lets start of with The basics!

The car:

Skoda fabia 1.2tsi monte carlo (105hp)

First registered: 26.11.2012

Reason for buying Skoda?

Well, my mom is driving her second octavia. Now its a 2013 1.2tsi sedan octy..

Dad drives a 2010 fabia sport 1.4tdi biogreen chipped. So we can say its The Skoda family :p

edy5ageq.jpg

Here we are, with my moms old car though..

So i got The car. Straight from dealer, Brand new. No messin around!

zubunu3e.jpg

First mod, change indicators to silverones!

uba5aqez.jpg

Before on The left, after on The right.

Ofc i did The front aswell, but no pics of that atm!

So. After that mod there went some time before i did something else with the car.

but next up..

changing the badges in front and back of the car to the new logo!

time passed. went on first ever roadtrip holiday. was an amazing trip. driving down the coastline. just fantastic!

just one thing.

was parked at a mall, with the tail out. went inside for a couple of hours. and when i came back?

well.. lets just say that i had to do this!

A88502EC-0B4C-4971-A99A-0BF584C21557_zps

some jacka** had backed his car straight into mine and bailed. no note, no nothing!

took the car to the dealer. they wanted to give it a new bumper and gave me an estimate on the price.

for the new bumper, paint and work:

£1650..

luckly i have a mate at a workshop. so he did the job for under £400.. (now im just taking a estimate on the difference between norweagian kroner and british pound)

So now its all back to normal.

time passed again. and then!

then i joined Briskoda.net, and the inspiration you guys give.. jesus! :o

i never in my wildest dreams thought that the fabia could be so much.. that it had so much potensial!

so..

new double din player was ordered and fitted:

here they are, just laying there and waiting for that black tint.

next up. Chip!

Well.. My dad bought his chip from a site called boxpower.dk

and he had a good experience with that chip. so i found one for myself! :)

gives me a boost from 105bhp to 137bhp and 175nm to 225nm.

and guess what this is?

i can controll the whole phone from the player now. facebook, youtube, spotify, soundcloud, twitter.. yeah. you get it!

perhaps i shall take a pic of it in action some time.. but, not for now :P

well.. mufflerectomy is a common word around here on the forum. so i had to try it.

work in progress!

and ofc.. when all is good, something bad has to happen!

27A85298-2F6B-4ECB-974F-93A0D4BD9801_zps

the car needed a tow.. just wouldnt start.

tried and i tried. measured the voltage on the battery, was ok.

filled oil, checked the fuses, did everything that i could.. but.. i had to get the tow..

so i got this from the dealer while they fixed my car.

the dealer rang, and guess what. the fuse for the coils where missing.. yeah. missing!

fun, right?

so.. it was absolutely NOTHING!

got the car back again.. and me and my mate decided that our cars need a good wash!

It took you some time to update this thread but it was worth the wait. Your car is getting into the right shape and looking really good. Keep up with the good work.

I have pre facelift one in orange and spent some cash on it but it was well worth it...;)

Looking good mate

Thanks Slotty! it did take me some time to start modding, but I hope its gonna be worth while ;)

Yeah, ive read the whole thing. and it looks good!

Could you help me on some parts? :)

i want more preformance parts. but here in norway you cant get s*** to the fabs..

like, i want to tight'n it up. perhaps some braces in front and back.

at the moment I got the KN cone air filter installed in the original airbox though, any opinion on what i should use?

thanks in advance :)

Looking good mate

thanks mate! :) all help is very much appreciated regarding parts, mods i could use etc.

Well I'm not too sure what to recommend as my Engine mods include Stage 1 Remap, PD160 Intake and BMC Panel Filter (I like my car to look OEM).

Re the other bits which are more important I have done Handling and Brake Conversion and well pelased with them. Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers along with SuperPro Suspension Bushes plus extra barking pwoer from 312mm Brakes put a smile on my face everyday. There are plenty of things you could do to your car but if I were you I'd sort out the handling and brakes first. You don't need to do the conversion but can buy some decent brake pads, re the suspension I had my car lowered before I fitted the colilovers. the springs improved the handling and look but colilovers are 100% better...

I'll be watching this thread...;)

Right...

PD160 Air Intake helps to cool your Turbo and Engine and you need the one from Seat Leon Cupra TDi and part numbers are 6LL129618 and 6LL129 621

Re the Brakes, if your discs are fine you can just replace the pads, if you current brake set up is 288mm then I would recommend these pads - Part No. DP41517R (EBC Yellow Stuff Pads)

If you want to upgrade you need to find a set from MK1 Octavia VRS (5x100 stup pattern) and buy these pads - Part No. DP41330R (EBC Yellow Stuff Pads for MK1 Octy vRS)

Re the coilovers there are plenty and it all depends on your budget...Have a look here just to see few examples http://www.awesomegti.com/car/skoda/fabia2?subpart=Coilovers

Re the braces do you mean the Anti Roll Bar...? If so I'd go with the Rear H&R Anti Roll Bar to start with and see if you like it. I have that one on my car and love it.

Re the spacers I have 17mm per side Rear and 12mm per side front. Both made by Sparco and bought from here:

Fronts: http://www.rallyshop...-skoda-fabia-6y

Rears: http://www.rallyshop...-skoda-fabia-6y

I'm no expert and have asked for advice here and plenty of peeps helped me with picking the right parts.

Also, if you read my thread from start to finish you'll be able to find all part numbers and what you require but mind you though...My car is 1.9TDi and your is 1.6TDi so some parts might be slightly differert.

I hope this helps a bit

Thanks alot! Budget is tight atm, but will be better soon. This fall is going to be great (upgrading wise).

After july im moving, this will save me about £650 in rent per month.. So its just about saving up for The different parts :)

Just have to correct you about the engine, im having an 1.2tsi! Not 1.6tdi. Petrol here :p

I hope ill find The stuff, Do these sites ship international? Ship to norway forinstance? :)

Best regards

Sorry I assumed you had the 1.6 TDi...I'm pretty sure the suspension and brakes should share the same parts as mine but bushes might be different. The safest bet is to check with the shop when ordering by giving them your VIN number.

Most of the online shops will ship to any EU country. I know the guy who's  a member on here that bought from Awesome GTI and they shipped the parts to Greece as this is where he lives so you should be fine...

well i guess i came around to mounting the cam before i even knew it.

had a collogue that helped me with it. he had better tools than me anyway :P

so here we are. taillight out so the cam can get some power. I connected it to the driving lights, so it allways has power.

finished.. mounted in place. very tidi,

very easy install from DealExtreme.com

connect it to the power from the tailight or where ever you want (12volts).

the one i got is wireless (2.4GHz), so place the transmitter in a dry place, just to be sure. eventhough they say its waterproof.

better safe than sorry, right? ;) what i did is that i tied up in the bumper, under the taillight :) can see if i can fetch a pic soon :)

then just connect the receiver to your screen. and voila! :D

and how it looks on the screen
