Another happy new vRS TSI owner

Featured Replies

Nice to see another red, non black pack hatch. Toy got it quick too!

My fiancée is finding the front seat uncomfortable. I hope she finds a better adjustment as she spends more time in the car.... Currently she says she will use a cushion.... That will need to be small enough for me to hide away in the under seat storage or I'll be pimpin' with chintz

Not a fan of the black pack personally!

My wife commented on the non adjustable front headrest, but it didn't create a big issue and at least she doesn't need a cushion!

She looks great, don't see many vRSs, even less in that red, nice one.

Just glad to hear others are buying petrol, there are so many diesels, but I guess its the sensible option if you clock the miles. I don't. My initial 26mpg is now approaching 33 after 1000 miles, so don't panic, it does rise. But if you've had the mk2 you'll be used to that consumption. Enjoy.

Looks good. I personally would have opted for the black pack to compliment the pano roof.

As for driving mode. Sport, then unplug the sound generator.

I got 35mpg on the 130 mile 'test' drive round the Dales so well pleased with that. Took it v. easy most of the time obviously, but did have a few 3 car at once overtakes even so.

Looks great

I was just about to look into that!!

Love the whistling turbo btw!

Thanks Chris. What's happened to the meets - forum doesn't seem to show anything anymore.

I had similar figures when I first got my Tsi, but this has steadily improved with a little mileage. Regularly get around 40 mpg on a run now. This car with this engine is a joy to drive and I'm glad to hear that you are out there enjoying it. I also have the sunroof and I'm interested in how folks clean the dead flies off the fabric deflector screen.

Haven't faced the fly problem yet. Roof seems to creak intermittently though - not a rattle - more like body flex if that's possible.

I've been to the BTCC qualifying at Croft today. Mixed lanes and dual carriageway - 36mpg again for a 1hr drive. Tried Lane Assist - turned it off!!

I was caught out by the cruise control though. Approaching village dropped a gear expecting the clutch to disengage cruise, only to find myself accelerating back up to set speed again. First CC I've had which is not disengaged by clutch operation.

First CC I've had which is not disengaged by clutch operation.

I was caught out by that on my current car (BMW 120d) - that's the first time I'd come across one where the clutch doesn't cancel it.  Seems to be the way they're all going, although I think (but I honestly can't remember and I never do this) that holding the clutch down for 2 or 3 seconds does cancel it, but pressing it long enough to change gear doesn't.  No idea if the Skoda system is the same in that respect or not.

CC on both my Mk2' cancelled at slightest touch of clutch or brake. My Mk3 auto does same on brake, (obviously no clutch pedal)

Would have thought it could be a fault. If not I wouldn't like it.

It's not a fault - according to the handbook at any rate.

Very nice, it looks good in Red.

Did it come from Harrogate by any chance ?

Yes, Benfield again.
