About to order a Fabia VRS estate - limited colour choices?

Featured Replies

Hello, I am about to order a new Fabia VRS estate but I have read a few things on here re:colour choices and some colours no longer available? I was thinking of a metal grey metallic if they still do this colour?

Also does anyone one know if there will be any limited edition spin offs as they are not replacing this model in the Mk3 Fabia or at least don't seem to be at present?

Thought that production had ended on the 13th June.

So yours would have to be a stock car.

Best ask a dealership. Maybe call the dealership that sponsors this forum. Their information is accurate.

Might be lucky to find a stock item, but doubt you'll be able to order one

Could be wrong though

Ah, ok thanks guys. I didn't know they had ceased production yet, guess that answers my second question too!

There is a Race Blue one Oct 2013 3300 @£12995 in dealer Lymington Hants.

Plus a 2012Dec 10,000 miles in red @Crewe.

Quite a few Monte Carlos on the Skoda UK website  used section.

Might fine on Autotrader also.

I'm sure there will be 'nearly new' used examples or ex-demos, but a Skoda dealer should have access to the database to see if there any 'new new' cars in the system anywhere

This is on Autotrader with an asking Price below £14,000,  advertised at under 1,300 miles.

A member here recently traded one in, maybe this very one.

Westgate Dealer ad on Autotrader 2014 -1200 miles in red with 5 year warranty and rear sensors.£13990.

Not sure of location but worth a call if you like red.

I'd rather a grey or a black one if there are no grey metallics available. I'll speak to the dealer and see what they have available. I wanted an Octy III VRS but there are no used cars around and new ones are too much for me.

You will be very lucky with grey met.

Few hatches around, don't think I've seen an Estate.

Another blue one on 63 plt Warrington

Red 2013 13 plt 7800 miles £13000 Simpsons

I'd rather go with new as well, I understand the engines have a few potential issues and if I get a problem at least I only have the car to blame!

I spoke to the dealers yesterday and there are about 20 VRS estates in stock already built, only two are metal grey metallic. Of those two only one has cruise which I wanted but it also has nav, parking sensors, elec rear windows, climate con etc. Basically a load of stuff I don't want to be paying any extra for so I may forego cruise for choice of colour. There is also a black estate but thats a similar high spec.

Hoping to come to some sort of financial agreement later today. The car is in port in the UK so in around 10 days time I could be in it which is nice!

re Octy vRS Mk3,

is it a petrol or diesel you are after,?

there are used around, and some bargains to be had, you might just need to travel to get the one you want.

5 220ps petrols advertised on Autotrader just now.

There are not really potential problems with the Twincharger engines from 2013,

and with a 5 year warranty you are covered. & you could extend that again down the line if you had the right mileage then.

If a car has 500 miles on it advertised at a dealer, it will make little difference, other than saving you several thousand pounds maybe.

PS.

RE Lowering Springs the Fabia vRS Estate.

You can have that done by the Dealer as a Dealer Option when the car is having it's PDI. If a New Unregistered one is being Delivered to the Dealers.

No need to run the car in and have the Springs Fitted yourself.

(Maybe cheaper to do yourself, but worth checking how much the dealer wants.)

The rear Springs on the Estate are not the same as those for the Hatch.

Thanks goneoffSKi, I had looked at MK3 VRS Octavias but I really wanted a dsg equipped car and there only seemed to be manual cars available.

I've had my battered 182 since Nov 05 so time to treat myself to a new car! I would go with nearly new but really like the grey metallic. Realistically it's just a get to work/gym car and an Octavia would be overkill for now. Once more child ferrying duties are necessary then it will be justified!

As for springs they can wait for now, I know the dealers can fit eibachs but I'd prefer the 40mm H&R springs if they fit the estate?

The prices I have seen quoted don't seem great either tbf.

Basically the less money I part with at the dealers the better in my eyes, plus I can't see them having a Hunter allignment system?

I know the dampers don't need running in but they are usually the sort of thing that will leak early on if they are going to I believe.

Even if I only save £50 or so in labour using mates rates thats still a weeks petrol money or a lot of steak!

If your dampers where to leak, which i remember only one member here recently having issues with on a over 2 year old vRS estate,

then they are under the Full Manufacturers Warranty still with Dealer Fitted Springs.

(As much as usual Warranty on External Factors, Wear & Tear & just covering Manufacturing issues.)

It also means you insure the car as Bought, Standard Factory Build & Dealer Options Fitted before Delivery,

and no need to go telling the Insurance Company of a change.

Have you had a look at 'Sharkrider' s Prodject Build on his Black Estate ?

Springs, ARB, Brake pads etc.

Aha, with you now mate, I'll have a look and enquire at the dealers when I speak to them.

Must it be an estate,as there are about 3 demo met grey Fabia vrs Hatchback on the Skoda UK website and I'm sure you could get more money off the advertised prices. Typically at present two at £14500 -14800, you could get for in my view if you play hardball £13750 -13500. good deal in my book . Negotiate a 5 year warranty on top.

Yes I need the space as I'll have to transport our little girl and her pram in it sometimes and there is a strong possibility of no.2 on the way in a years time. Even with just the one add in a bit of shopping and the Yeti is soon filling up!

I know the hatch isn't tiny but the estate is so much more versatile. Plus I think they look cooler and I've always wanted a 'wagon' even if it is a mini one!

HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT AN Octavia MK3 ELEGANCE 1.4TSI -140 bhp or a 150 bhp diesel.

Nice one in met black at dealership in Reading

Having gone from a Fabia vRS to an Octavia 1.4TSi DSG, I haven't found it lacking in normal driving - same peak torque value (250Nm) and lighter, despite being a larger car.  Loses a bit at the top end, and not the pull from very low rpm the Fabis had, but very nice to drive.

Why not take a look at Rapid Spaceback 1.2TSI DSG 122 bhp- DEPENDS HOW IMPORTANT OUTRIGHT GRUNT IS I GUESS.

Deposit paid!

I didn't ask about the springs as I don't want to part with any more cash as present, we have recently remortgaged and the woman has booked two more holidays as well as the one we have in late Aug already....

The 182 is getting traded in (save me from having to spend x amount getting it through an mot for sale) and I am happy with the payments.

The Fabia should cover all the bases I require at present, bit of a shame it's not a new model but at least it's a new car!

Nice bit of poke, as fast/faster in a straight line as the Clio, cheaper tax, much more space but still a small car and no more heavy clutch for my left knee with tendon issues to deal with! It may even get more mpg by the look of peoples posts on here!

I just hope it comes with Conti's now!

What have you got then, colour etc.
