Well today was the first time I have driven the Superb, I have just done 260 miles down to South Wales, What a car:) compared to the Exeo, which I have also done the same journey in, it was much smoother, more relaxed, much quieter, and, as mentioned on other posts, the Superb does make you drive like a Grandad ..Lol .. It just felt like it was gliding along... .really happy :)

As it has now only covered just over 300 miles I expected the fuel consumption to be down a little, the Exeo was the same, but improved a lot after 3-5000 miles, but at an average 65-70MPH it has done 44MPG.. will see how it goes

But so far really impressed, think I made the right choice ;)

Oh...and the DAB radio is fantastic, nice to be able to select a station and not have to retune as you go through different area's... even watched a bit of TV on the motorway service whist having a coffee :) and the 10 speaker sound system sounds fantastic

Stu

Stu don't worry about the fuel right now, it will improve as it loosens, it won't do some of the silly figures every forum is plague with but to give you an idea I had a PD 2.0 DSG Passat, that would return a similar mid 40's figure on a run, don't put yourself or the dealer through lost time and hassle because Cyril McCalculation says his does 90mpg, if the dealer starts to look for a fault that ain't there they will ruin the Skoda profile the car was built to, I'd estimate once run in and under the right conditions you'll be seeing 52 regularly and 60 if the wind was behind you for 400 miles and you stayed in top gear @ 50mph,

Don't listen to the re-map BS either, all a re-map does is throw the MFD out, it's like anything, you want more it costs more, a re-map is to make the car pull better and faster if it was to improve mpg Skoda would load it as standard, in the old days it was probably valid as it made the profile more efficient but in todays world they squeeze all they can from a map for good mpg anyway, re-mapping is only good if you wanna go a hoofin it.

Enjoy your car and know this, my mate has an Octy 2 1.6TD, on a good day it shows 50mpg, the Superb is heavier and his engine is 20% smaller, if he only gets 50mpg it means your 44mpg is about right even though the bullrochure shows magical figures.

I never believe what the brochure or anyone else says about MPG, I would estimate about the same as you, my Exeo was also a 2.0TDi 170 and that did the same, after a few thousand miles I could get between 50-55 on a run, this started about the mid 40's when that was new :)

I had a 1.6TDi Seat Toledo as a loan car a few months back, on my run to work which is an average speed around 65mph that was doing high 60's which amazed me :)

Although I have only done 300 miles in the Superb, I am confident it was a good choice, really impressed with everything so far... Including the help I have had from here ;)
