Merc A45?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Been looking at the spec (engine/power etc) of the A45 looks like a handy bit of kit straight out the box with a 2.0 ltr petrol engine with 360bhp on tap, 0-60 in 4.6 seconds & 4x4 etc.

Does anyone know if this setup is exclusive to Mercedes?

All it is I do not like the look of the A45 but like the standard performance and wondered if it is in any other cars.

Regards

Have a word with George about deliver/build dates?

I have driven the 'A45 AMG' and the 'CLA 45 AMG' which a family member put an order on.

I loved them both, but more so the CLA.

Sadly Mercedes messed about on Build & Delivery dates, so the order is cancelled for the present.

There is no similar set up really, (not that i know of anyway.)

FWD and AWD as required & the Merc Autobox.

If you want similar with just a bit less BHP, then a S3 Saloon with S-tronic',

but by the time you spec it to the Standard of the Basic CLA 45 AMG,

it probably costs more anyway.

Or a S3 Sportback (or VW Golf R) until the new RS 3 comes out with 380 bhp or there abouts .

BMW  X-Drive Saloons which are RWD untill AWD is required.

Don't waste your money and go for a c63. By the time you put a decent spec on the car and then what discount you can get of a c63, the difference is minimal. I learnt this when my boss bought the company c63.

I drove the C 63 just before the CLA 45 AMG,

but it was a wet day in Tayside so the C 63 was handicapped right off.

The Coupe was Lovely, i was not so keen on the 4 door.

Heard similar issues on build dates from a work colleague. When it eventually turned up the spec had been altered too.

I do like the look of the AMG Spec though :)

Urgh. Those c63's. They sound amazing.

If i could, id buy one just for the noise.
