I am really interested in this .  Simple question.  When it goes into a main Skoda dealer can they tell it has been so done.  I had a vRS done some years ago, a diesel  on a 56 plate, as soon as it was out of warranty and yes, it  transformed the car for the better, and not detectable on main dealer computers?    I have a Roomster 86 bhp and previously had the 105 Monte carlo  (needed more room with grand kids).  I will certainly get it done at 3 years, and might take the plunge before then but spooked on the warranty issues.   Bought the 86 one as on a deal with around £5K off !  The 105 engine would have been that extra money (or a diesel)  and 20% off ?

I would imagine Skoda will be able to see it. I know the VW/Audi cars flag with TD1 when plugged into their system, but not sure if Skoda/Seat do that...

My CTHE engine is mapped by Revo, I've not been back to the dealer since though!

Welcome to the forum.

Have REVO really been able to mapped your CTHE ECU ,  is this to Stage 1

Hi George,

Yes they have. I lent them my car for map development/testing a few months ago. Everything is fine, car is rapid.

From what I hear, they are still testing and developing the new dealer tools so it can be rolled out properly.

Are REVO covering the Warranty now that your Manufacturers Warranty on the Engine is Void ?

Neither covering warranty - I've bitten the bullet and taken the risk.  :peek:

Fingers crossed they have it right this time then and they learned from their map for the CAVE.

Any Dyno results available for the CTHE  before and after?

Yeah I hope so! Hasn't skipped a beat yet, gets driven pretty hard. Using the NGK 7s which Revo recommend.

No dyno charts provided by them unfortunately. I was told peak figures before and after 180>205bhp, but this is pretty meaningless as it's the midrange torque which has dramatically increased.

They did mention my CTHE was pulling a lot of timing back towards the top of the rev range when getting hot - no matter which fuel was used. So it's been mapped for 95ron. I've since fitted a better intercooler.

Are you not near for getting 99 ron fuel,?

i hardly see the point of the Remap and 95 ron.

& i am surprised if it was only putting out 180ps or 180 bhp if that was what it was putting out,

& then the same or less than a APR Stage 1 on a CAVE running 99 ron.

You maybe better get good high performance oil and Spark Plugs in.

all the best with it.

No matter what fuel they had in there (Vpower etc), it would still pull the timing back and make no more extra power than the 95ron. Heat is the issue.

Regardless of that, the tune is a huge improvement over the stock map. The 180bhp stock figure - who knows if that's accurate, we all know dynos are tuning tools at the end of the day, and their actual figures should be taken with a pinch of salt. It's the back to back results which matter.

Stage 1 Revo CTHE is fast :)

177 bhp /180 ps minimum is unusual to get with a CAVE on a accurate RR or Dyno in the UK.

That is a Minimum that can be expected at many ambient Temperatures & elevations around the world,

and in the UK we will always be below 4,000 feet, and ambients below 36 *oC

There are a few CTHE have been on the Dyno now.

I pay little attention to Dynos as yes they are a tool, but i am surprised how poor that sounds if it is what REVO got on your car as

a test.

The APR Switchable Map for Fuel Octane with the CAVE is rather good,

and be it, 98-99 or 102 it is good without Heat issues.

They did mention the stock map made 180bhp without temperature correction, and around 200bhp with temperature correction. Is this more what you were expecting?

As soon as the APR map is available for the CTHE I'll certainly be interested. That's if they even bother with this engine any more!
