Hi, I've recently bought a 2008 VRS

 

It seems to be the very basic vrs and does not have cruise control. My question is can it be fitted and at what cost?

Yes it definitely can but I am struggling to think who could do it locally. Tech1e has fitted lots of cruise control kits and can advise on price - but he lives in/near Worcester. Unit 18 Automotive near MK are nearer and might be able to do it too. Their prices for servicing and repairs are very competitive. I wouldn't have thought it would cost more than £16 to have fitted.

Ok thank you, was it normal that the VRS of this age did not come with many features other models/specs have? The car was 1st owned my the Police from new.

Is it an ex-Cambridgeshire Police car? I haven't a clue what features such cars had but I would have thought the spec would be fairly basic. A lot I have seen locally have been fitted with sump guards which are otherwise rare on privately owned Octavias.

P.S. Have you seen that I have added to my earlier post to include mention of Unit 18?

Cruise became standard with the FL in 2009.

Don't know how much to fit on the mk2 but I priced it at Alex lawrie skoda in Liverpool when I had my mk1 vrs and they wanted £120 all in. Didn't think that was too bad.

No Leistershire Police. No cruise control, electric folding mirrors, 6 CD changer, parking sensors etc. Not too fussed about the others but would like at least cruise control. I drive over the Leipzig Germany a few times a year so it makes the journey a lot more comfortable.

If I recall rightly it was a £180 option when I specced it new so £120 isn't bad at all.
