Many do but why do rally cars have flocked dashboards?

Sun glare?  I actually don't know the real reason lol.

That's what I was always lead to believe!

And often because the dashes are chopped about to fit clocks, fuses, switches, etc so not out of the original material, so flocking covers up the mess.

If the correct adhesives are used, it's also to resist/retard fire

My evo has a flocked dash...and it does reduce glare, not that iv ever had any problem with it in any of my other cars that wernt flocked

I would be more worried about it's cornering capabilities in this pic, over sun glare.  :p
