Can bonnets be adjusted

Featured Replies

The shut line --gap--between the front wing and the bonnet on one side of my Rapid is slowly widening.

They used to be exactly the same and I often admired the neatness of fit---especially after the thread on here about the "beak" on the front where the badge is being uneven on one poster's car.  This made me pay close attention.

I think my car is spreading in some way.  The good side is dead even-and tight- from front to back.  The bad side is now wider at the front than up by the windscreen.

If it could be "centered" it would look better  or not so obvious. I can't really see how they would do it.  I'll bet it would be a "look away now Sir" while someone twisted it with brute force.

Or if the front wing is bolted on can that be pushed to fit tighter?

Any ideas please.

Take it back to your dealer.

I had a bonnet symmetry issue. Maybe you can find my post in about February. The noticeable asymmetry was/is at the front, where bonnet meets grill. The lopsidedness was slightly improved by the dealer adjusting the rubber 'feet' underneath.

Additionally, where bonnet meets windscreen, one side sticks up while the other is flush with the wing.

So much for accurate standardised production!
