Hello & Fabia VRS fuel filter Q.

Featured Replies

Hi, I have serviced our Fabia VRS this weekend but can't find the fuel filter!!

I have (hopefully) attached a picture of it, taken from underneath the car...Is this it???

If so, what is the procedure for changing it.

The engine has not been run for 18 hours, so the pressure chould be ok, shouldn't it?

Thanks for any replies.

Thats the oil filter and cooler mate.

Fuel filter is front left behind the headlight.

Yep, got that.

The car has only covered 13K miles so I don't think I need to replace it until 20K.

I notice that you have the PD160air intake mod and a green filter, what performance gain will that give me and how much for the filter??

Also, the strut brace, is that something the the insurance will want to know about?

Mike.

Your insurance company will wish to know about ANY modifications, be they filters or braces, silly blue lights on the bonnet or even rebadging your vehicle as another model.

They WILL use any modification they haven't been told about as a reason not to pay out in the event of a claim. And they WILL use any means necessary to check if a vehicle is modified if it's involved in a serious fault accident.

However, most insurance companies are fairly reasonable with regard to 'safety enhancing' modifications like bigger brakes, and although they may add a cost to your premium (to an insurance company bigger brakes means you're more likely to brake later, so more likely to drive faster, so more likely to crash) it's normally not as ridiculous as people expect. However, on my first Rover 220 Coupe Turbo I uprated the front brakes to bigger items from a Honda Prelude and my premium actually went down, as the insurance company recognised that the standard items were horribly under-specced.

Fuel filter isnt changed until 40,000 miles along with the air filter.

Not fobbing you of mate but plenty of discussion on the Filter and Intake if you use the search

I will look around.

I have just fitted a Nokia hands free kit to the Fabia.

I took it from my Defender 110 and now I can't figure out which wire to splice into for the stereo cut...as the phone rings! :(
