Constant braking.

Featured Replies

I feel your pain!

There are so many gormless morons on the road these days.

Driving back from Brislington last night and I must have used my brakes literally twice! And that included coming down Garrowby hill.

Then I catch up to somebody in a MK6 Golf TDI who appears to have nodded off at the wheel doing 40-45 mph braking for every slight bend and bump in the road :dull:

EVERYBODY should be forced by law to take an advanced driving technique course imo....with a stringent test at the end of it too.

Fail and you get a restricted licence of some sort. (midnight to 06:00 driving only p'raps?  :D  )

Annoying as it is Mr R I think we have to accept that car enthusiasts in general and advanced drivers in particular are in a minority and for many a car is just a means of transport, so as long as they can get from A to B without having an accident in their minds they are good drivers.

I just laugh at their poor driving now. Makes for some amusing drives that would otherwise be a right PITA.

I'm deeply indebted to such a driver in an A4 tdi who drove me to dispair on the A44 from Wales in September 2012. Because of him I went and bought my vRS. I could still be in my 1.4tsi if it wasn't for him!

I'd buy him a pint if I knew who he was!

Was not the title of this thread also the title of a KD Lang song?

That was my misheard lyrics thread ;-)

Back OT I've ranted about most of these things before. SWMBO drives like that, doesn't look further than 10m in front of the car, doesn't drive to the conditions or have any awareness of what's going on.

I'm no longer surprised to see a tractor in the far distance waiting to come out and the driver in from of me not bother to move until he nearly hits it, people tailgating, not to get past just because they can't judge a safe distance.

People not making letting cars move to keep traffic flowing and ending up blocking the road.

So many stupid things done by so many ignorant selfish people on the roads.

Plant pots that come grinding to a halt at a roundabout entrance, when you and everyone within a 20 mile radius can quite clearly see that nothing is coming to hinder good progress.

AGGGHH!!  :wall:

The biggest problem with UK driving tests are,

they are done in Towns & Cities, as are most Driving Lessons.

Almost all include No single Carriageway 60 mph out of Town/City driving,

no 70 mph Dual Carriageways, & no Country Roads or Single Track roads.

 (Not to mention no Motorways)

So basically Drivers are not taught to drive out of a Town, or to overtake a moving vehicle.

IMO The Advanced Driving Instruction Required should be a Half Day out of Town Driving after passing the UK Driving your test

Before the Licence becomes valid or anyone can get Insurance to drive solo.

I will not suggest that is to the Standard of a Police Driver, Advanced Driver etc,

they are too like BMW Drivers, Indicator Delete Button on.  Generalisation there obviously.

One of my biggest pet hates same as people who sit in the middle lane. I find every time they brake give them full beam for the time they're on the brakes usually works. Drives me mental I can't sit behind them so I have to get past the idiots
