Heated seats with Kufatec loom

Featured Replies

Has anybody fitted heated seats using the kufatec loom? Ive fitted most of it and im just at the stage of wiring it in, ive found the earth but thats about it, problem is all the wires are grey and in german, ive translated them and got 2 thin wires 1 purple, 1 yellow. Another thin wire with lightso that obviously goes to headlight switch for illumination and then a thick wire that translates to time? I assume thats power.

Any ideas? Thanks

Not done it myself but I will be interested on how you get on. I have fitted Polo seats to mine which are heated, I've bought the switches, just not got round to buying the loom and wiring in.

I was under the impression that part of the loom has to be connected to the convenience module and then VCDS is needed to enable the heated seats, I don't know if that helps?

Once installed here a link to the VCDS coding change needed so the seat heating works(+00032):

yeah I thought it was a good time to start fitting heated seats in middle of summer lol Ive got switches, elements and the control module underneath the seats, bought the loom from kufatec, not cost me too much at moment.

Was it a fabia specific loom you bought?

Watching with interest as wiring up my seats is on the to do list.

You can find the fabia heated seat wiring diagram online if that's any good to you?

I seem to remember reading that the Kufatec loom is actually plug and play only for a mk4 Golf, and will have to be modified to suit a Fabia.

That's what I thought Tbh. Wasn't sure if they had made a fabia specific one though.

actually cant find the wiring diagrams, anyone got them?

I'm sure a couple people on here have the diagrams. Try searching the forum as I'm sure they've been put up on a thread of mine in the past when I was after some info.

Aye that's the one :)

Hmmmmmm I may have to look into this ready for those chilly winter mornings, are the heating elements already fitted to the GT seats?

no, I took the elements etc out of my old Elegance seats. I just need to remove the covers and pop them in as everything else is still in place.

Well i think ive got it figured using translator and a bit of common sense:

6b2b74181713191884f343011df6d535_zpsfaa7

Steuergerat Bordnetz = control unit vehicle power ( yellow & purple) - Going to assumr this is the fuse box.

KL30 = positive permanent

KL.58b = illumination

Masse = Ground.

So ive put the permanent on to main supply on drivers side, tagged into the radio illumination for the lights, but the ground using the bolt above the fuse box. I then temporarly put a fuse accross yello & purple wire and the switches light up and nothing poped or set on fire so thats a good sign.

I do think that the permanent shouldnt really be on as the seats could be left on in theory so id rather find a switched live thats of decent size due to the draw on power.

So they heat up all good then?

I didnt get that far! Thats tonights action bang the seats in and see what happens.

Steuergerat Bordnetz is your convenience module or CCM (I think), google image the words " Steuergerat Bordnetz" and you will see what I mean.

There are 2 pins you need to connect to on the CCM, one for passenger side seat and one for the driver side seat. The pin out numbers are mentioned somewhere in that wiring diagram I sent over. The CCM is located above your pedals.

When I inquired into buying this heating loom a few months ago, kufatec mentioned that this would need enabling using VCDS. Once enabled the CCM becomes your switched lived signal. One of the clever techs on here, will correct me if I'm wrong hopefully.

What fuse rating are you running on the KL30 = positive permanent? I only ask as I cannot remember what it should be.

Ahhh i didnt google any further into it, well i will pull the ccm down tonight and wire it in. I hadnt put a fuse on as it wasnt on the loom, supose i should do really, will find an inline fuse tonight and put it on.

Well it looks like T18b / 3 - red/green,

T18b / 10 - red/purple

So it goes in slot 3 an 10 on the ccm, still left with the colours on wires not matching!

Sam84,

There is a downloadable instruction manual for the heated seat loom on the Polo 9N, assuming it's similar to the Fabia it might be worth a download even if it is in German:

http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/volkswagen/polo/polo-9n/seat-heating-harness-vw-polo-9n?tab=anleitung

I've got a wiring diagram for the Fabia that a kind Briskoda member sent me. Pm me your email address and I will send you the link.

Couldnt download the manual, doesnt recognise me details which is great. I just need to figure out which 18pin plug on ccm to use as it has 2.
