I hate my dealer!

Featured Replies

Ok DM Keith Skoda in Leeds please get your act together !

This is the second time you have had my car for the "brakes binding" or in other words nearly using a set of front discs in 20k & 3 sets of brake pads.

Whenever you inept people seem to look you cannot find anything wrong and yet even the most novice of DIY car people can tell that the brakes are infact binding (confirmed by several people and two indipendant garages).

Your comment that I will have to pay

I didnt have a new Air Filter put in because mine is a Green Panel Filter :

Air filter isnt changed until 40k anyhow.

Apologies for swearing btw but I hope people can see my frustration :(

Thanks for clearing that up, but then again I would have known that had they actually written what they did to my car on it's 20k service (oh and no one was in from the service department and the salesman didn't know).

So things are going well between you and your dealer then.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I bought mine on Thursday from D. M. Keith (Bradford). I hope they dont treat my car with the same incompetence !!

Now then you boys, you just listen to this one, it'll blow your fekin' brains out!!!

My car recently had a 10,000 service and some warranty repairs done, the dealer that did this work has just arranged for me to go to another Skoda dealership, at his expense, in order to have all the faults corrected which they caused . .....and effin'

That's amazing  - still at least the dealer IS taking corrective measures for free to sort it, which is IMHO the best thing to do when they've messed up. That's gotta hurt their pockets badly though I'd imagine.

Have you fowarded your views to customer services?

Sorry, I can't see this, the situation is totally unacceptable, I'm still reeling with anger at their deficient attitude and grossly inadequate workshop skills. I think Skoda produce a fantastic product, but the dealer network lets it down.

That's pretty much the problem with Skoda around the world. Most of the stuff I get done to mine is free of charge, but as a third person, I can see that our dealer here is not the greatest around either, and there is only ONE dealer/agent here with 3 different branches.

How many dealers have you visited? 2 max? and a few others that you have heard of. To tar all 180 dealers with the same brush is a bit harsh I feel.

(I know I stick up for the dealer network, but hey someone has to).

They are not all bad Turners near Devizes has been fantastic ....small local garage there are no problems and things get sorted.....friendly as well

@aixlad - can see what you mean. Wasn't saying it was a good solution but considering it's the best they can do at the moment.

Would certainly consider switching over to 'this other dealer' if they're good though.

It's so tricky to get it right :(

Maybe a minor attitude problem there  , you should vote with your feet with this dealer.

And when you walk into the next one be pleasant and don't slag off the first one.

Had no problems yet (2 months in) the small plastic bit by the door handle keeps

falling off going to take it to them, one question on dealers though I brought the car 12 miles away from me there is another Skoda dealer 2 streets away from were I live can I take it there or do I have to stay were I brought the car?

Hope the original poster gets his sorted and you should think of taking it further if you dont good luck.

Good question that... One I need the answer to too.... The dealer I'm buying off is 250 miles from me, and theres a dealer 5 miles away who will be getting any warranty claims from me if that's allowed!

Yep, you can get the warranty work carried out at any Skoda dealer as it's Skoda's faults with the car, rather than a specific dealers :D Servicing only has to be done at a VAT-registered garage using Skoda OEM parts to keep up the warranty :D

Thanks' date=' kind words, but there should be no [i']trick in getting it right[/i]. It's not unreasonable for me to expect all 180 dealerships to comply to the same standards and responsibility of care. There will always be bad ones, and I unfortunately chose the worst of them all in this case. I'll go elsewhere next time and hope not to be too disappointed. I would not describe myself as a fanatical petrolhead (Dieselhead - does that work?), but I do expect a reasonable job for a reasonable sum, just like what my clients expect from my company.

So it will be acceptable to have it serviced at my local garage providing that they use VAG parts!! Yes!! :) That will save a few bob!!LOL

Sparshots Fareham took my Punto partexchange on a Fabia in March O5. Just had to pay a Fixed Penalty (failure to road Tax) to DVLC because the dealer didn't put the V5 bottom bit in the post as he promised. I trusted the main dealer never read the V5 just handed it over as requested and signed where sparshotts said. Sparshots cashed my puntos tax disk and 4/5 months later I'm still the registered keeper. Just sent the invoice to DVLC but they still fined me. Sparshotts also supplied the Sloda with no fuel, no tax, no second key, different coloured roof. Bascally the saleman Barry lied about at lot of things and I foolishly trusted him.

never again

My dealer is great.Autosales Cannock(formerly Lea Hall motors of Rugeley)

Big reason why I won't spend my money on another make of car

Hope you sort this one though. It is a very important thing looking after customers and their cars.Important in so many ways.

I to have also had problems with D. M. Keith (Bradford).

1). They did not reset my computer service log after a 20k service and I had to go back 300 miles later to get the dashboard service light turned off

2). My service log book is no longer in my car after the last service

3). They made me feel like a 'twonk' when I asked about a strut brace

3). They made me feel like a 'twonk' when I asked about a strut brace

What does a twonk feel like? :)
