Hi Guys,

Can you please help, the larger cooling fan starts running (engine off cold) for a few seconds then cut out,this then repeats all night, I can hear a faint clicking sound under the bonnet but can't locate it.

Any advice would be wonderful

Water in the fusebox causes this, fusebox removal, dismantling and drying out usually sorts it.

There was no evidence of water ingress, but I applied the hairdryer to it I assume that the fuse box is the one in the engine bay? no improvement.

Not sure about your partucular car but some have fans which run when the air con is on. Also I believe some (french?) cars also switch on the engine fans and other electric loads like the heated rear screen when doing a dpf re-gen.
