Annoying problems with new Rapid

Featured Replies

I have my Rapid Spaceback for 2 weeks now, but I have already visited the dealership twice (and tomorrow will be the third time) with two annoying problems.

The most important one is present from day one. During the delivery of my new car, the two LH side (that is drivers' side for european cars) electric windows, refused to function. The dealer disconnected the battery for 2 minutes and then everything was fine. I though that it was probably a minor electrical glitch and left with my new car. However, the next weekend I had the same problem and solved it just by switching off and then turning on the car. For the last 4 days I have the same problem again, though I cannot solve it and for the time being, neither can the dealership by simply connecting it to their laptop, possibly because it's not updated to the latest software version. It doesn't even gets a fault code...

The second problem was that for 3-4 days I had intermittently the bulb failure indicator on, while all the bulbs were OK. As usual no fault code in the dealership check...

As I am starting to lose patience, I would really appreciate any ideas. Has anyone encountered the same or similar problems?

Demand a courtesy car and leave yours at the dealer. Tell them to call u only when they have worked everything out

Ring skoda Uk. Tell them of the issues you have with the car and that you want it logged and an official complaint logging. Did you take the car out on finance ?

If so ring them and explain the same and that if the problems are not resolved and you don't get a reply with 7 working days that you would like to return the car back to them. They will be able to put more weight behind you complaint to the dealers to fix the problem.

Actually I will ring Skoda Greece, if by next week the problems aren't sorted out.

Thanks for the tips anyway. Different country - same solutions...
