Costing only £9,595, buyers will get extra standard equipment at no cost as well as more than 20% off the original recommended retail price.

Furthermore, customers will also get a three-year / 30,000-mile free servicing package at no additional cost if the car is bought using Solutions personal contract plan from ŠKODAFinance.

Available with ŠKODA’s acclaimed 1.2-litre 69PS petrol engine, the car is available in any of the Fabia’s full range of colours, including metallic paint options at no extra cost.

The Fabia SE comes as standard 15-inch alloy wheels, extra rear speakers, manual air conditioning, tinted glass, electric door mirrors and remote central locking. The special edition version, which is based on the SE, includes a spare wheel and metallic paint for no extra cost.  That represents additional value of £600.

No other factory-fit optional extras can be added to the car and the offer only applies to the ŠKODAFabia Hatch, not the Estate.**

The Fabia SE* has previously been priced at £12,580 on the road. At just £9,595 – that’s a discount of £2,985 (23.7%) – this new model represents outstanding value for money.

*Retail price £11,980, with metallic paint at £525 and a spare wheel at £75
** Terms and conditions apply. An offer of finance depends on certain conditions. Subject to status, indemnities may be required. Available to over 18’s in the UK only. ŠKODA Finance, freepost VWFS.

I wish they'd fit a better engine to these cheap bargain Fabias.

That's the worse performing, least economical engine in the whole Fabia range.

69ps that's 68BHP for gods sake Skoda a mk1 1.9SDI has 1bhp more than that

My mate reckons the 1.2 has good economy and a decent turn of speed (his was an 06 estate).

Was it the same engine or a HTP. If so I rather like my HTP pulls well

In 2000 Skoda had a 1.4 16v NA petrol engine that made 100bhp, 71bhp per litre.

Fourteen years later they have a single NA petrol engine in the range, that makes 58bhp per litre.

I find that a little odd.

Is it just to keep a basic Fabia under the magic £10,000, so you can buy a new Fabia for less than ten grand?

It's ridiculous surely a 1.2 tsi would be just as good

Maybe it's clearing stock of some engines that didn't do so well.

We'll see lots of these offers in the run up to the FABIA III.

For some this will be enough, once it's rolling at least.

Interestingly ( for me ) last week in Scotland, talking to a new friend. SKODA, oh yes I was looking at one, but quite expensive now. How perceptions and brand shifts in < 10years.

He was looking to replace his golf.

It may have been, thinking of getting a tdi Octavia myself.
