Caliper refurbishment/painting

Featured Replies

I'm not sure this is the best place to post so mods please move if you feel that it needs to be elsewhere.

After thinking for about a month I have finally picked the colour (Porsche orange) that I want to have the bigger brake calipers done in.

I was originally going to paint them myself, but I really have not got the time at the moment to do this. I also wanted a better finish than what I would end up with if I done this myself.

So I contacted the company with the updated colour request and they said their prices have increased. A full set of front and rear calipers come in at £826!!!!

I nearly choked on my coffee!!!

So they can frankly go and multiply with themselves as that's over double the original price (which wasn't exactly cheap in the first place).

Can anyone recommend a good place to have the work done, preferably somewhere that wont make me need a tub of Vaseline!

Thanks

There was a guy who sort of two'd up with Dave1970 (the one who developed the NQSBBK). You may find more info about the caliper guy over on VagOC.

may be the same bloke you already tried of course.

Just use some acidic wheel cleaner, the calipers will soon go rusty and then you'll be pretty close to the Porshe orange!?

Thanks, I'm awaiting a response.

Big Red (as seen on Wheeler Dealers) will not touch Porsche calipers (weird as they did on wheeler dealers!)
