Hi guys,

My name is Alan and I live in Dublin, Ireland.

I bought a 2007 Octavia combi fsi in January when my son was born as I needed a big boot for hauling all the baby stuff around.

Its been over seven months now and I have to admit, I am well impressed with the Skoda.

Thanks skda99, I'm trying to find some photos so I can start a project thread.

I've never been able to leave a car alone, so I've already got some ideas for this combi.

Although I am finding it hard to find after market parts to improve the look or performance.

Hopefully i will be able to find out more technical details on my car here, as I'm sure a lot of the golf parts should fit and would be much easier to get...

Hi all, finally got around to getting some new shoes ordered for the girl. I'm getting a set of Hankook Ventus Evo K137 235/45 ZR18 98Y XL put onto the Pegasus alloys. I was considering changing out the locking wheel nut for just a regular nut? Which then prompted the second question, I picked up a set of Alcar 9021 17inch Steelies for Winter Tyres, do I need to run seperate nuts due to the alloy v steel nature? I was looking on autodoc to try and order some nuts as I didn't know how often they

Hello My skoda start keeping rpm in neutral around 900 to 950, yesterday i went for ride on motorway and engine light came on then few minutes after dpf light came on. Drove for 2 hours no issuses turbo works fine also power is fine, traffic was cray so was not able keep driving in high rpm. Will only driving in high RPM help to clear out or not? Should i use dpf additive? also it is 182k miles... Today i started the car in the morning and rpm was at normal.also dpf light is gone but engine lig

I have always thought my rear suspension a little soft when towing or even with a full tank. I fitted rubber assisters and this has helped hugely but I would like a little more permanent solution. How can I tell if springs such as these - https://www.autodoc.co.uk/lesjofors/9735347 are heavier duty? It does say for towing. Would fitting new shocks (Bilstein B6?) help as well? I suppose crawling under to see what shocks I have, and what springs I have may a good idea anyway? I think the

I have a 2014 diesel octavia estate 1.6 blk edition. Lately, and since service my mpg is alot lower than normal. I understand my car is old but recently ive noticed im using more fuel. Ive asked my usual mechanic and hes replied with the expected answer i thought hed suggest which is weather, tyres, speed, fuel prices and that mpg is never ro be trusted. Im not taking fuel prices into consideration as im seeing my fuel being used up more. Mpg today has been 34,on a route i normally use and get
