1.6 dsg

Featured Replies

Just wandering what members thought of the octy with the 1:6tdi running with dsg box ? Any good

This is my first auto and unless reliability becomes an issue I will have a DSG again on the next car. The seven speed makes the 1.6 a better drive, in the five speed manual I was up and down the box much more than in my previous 1.9pd's.

I bought mine as a 2nd hand company car of a Skoda dealer and she had 15,000km on odo.

Now it has 33,000 and I'd say I'm pretty happy with it. Great fuel economy, decent quickness, great comfort.

I'd like to add a few HP but understood that tuning up would get the engine over the 250Nm limit of the DSG, so I dropped the idea.

I had a week long test drive in an Octavia Elegance Estate 1.6 TDI DSG and it was absolutely fine, a really nice drive, as has already been said above the seven speed DSG suits it. You won't be disappointed.
