51 OCTY vRS exhaust

Featured Replies

hello...

unfortunately my 51 octavia vRS failed its MOT today, due to either the front or middle section of the exhaust (i cant remember which), which now needs replacing. The dealer didnt bother to ring me with the news until i rang at 5pm, now the parts department is closed and they cant give me a price.

Does anyone know how much this is going to cost? (for either bit). I tried phoning round a few places and they say it's a dealer only part due to it having the hexagonal tailpipe.

I have a horrible feeling this is going to cost a fortune. :thumbdwn:

Sounds like time for a full stainless system! Cat backs are fairly cheap, quite a few of the guys on here have them.

Go for a Blueflame complete exhaust, downpipe, sportscat, box. With a lifetime warranty.

Probably cheaper than just the standard parts for the repair.

I know the standard cat for an Octy vRS is over

You have a PM.......Much too dear on that site, they are having a "Radox".

The OEM exhaust will cost you much more than a Blueflame or Miltek system.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but if anyone can point me in the right direction for a decent priced full after market system for my VRS, please let me know, the Milltek is way too expensive, not sure where else to look, though i know soemeone will :D:D

Cheers in advance, Goose

IIRC....

Milltek dp/200 cel sports cat approx

Blueflame system, downpipe, sports cat and cat back...About

Blueflame here too - full turbo back exhaust including hiflo cat for circa

Definatly go for blueflame. I've got a green panel filter/Jabba remap/bailey dump valve and full blue flame exhaust. bought it from their ebay shop. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SKODA-OCTAVIA-RS-Blue-Flame-Stainless-Exhaust_W0QQitemZ7998874231QQcategoryZ38786QQcmdZViewItem

You have to buy the whole thing, I only bought the rear section to start with but the tailpipe looked a little slanted no matter what the garage did. I then bought the down pipe and sports cat and wow, what a difference. excelent product and excelent help from blueflame.

Read somewhere else on here about the blueflame tailpipe not sitting correctly when fitted to the original centre section, is the blueflame centre section a different angle on the end or something? How bad does the exhaust slant? I'm also after a blueflame tailpipe but can't afford full system just yet...

The exhuast isnt at much of an angle but its noticable with it being so wide. If the fitters take their time they will be able to get it straight. Blueflame fitters told me "Connect up the rear section loosly then straighten up the tailpipe then tighten up the exhaust and it should stay straight.

With just the rear section you get a nice burble, dont expect any perfomance increase. You would do best to save up and buy the whole system, the whole blueflame system is much cheaper than Skoda system. Ohh by the way, when you've got the whole system done :D:D:D:D:D:D:D its well worth the money. if you want any sound clips you can email me.

Now this situ sounds familiar..... before you spend any money! take note of what im going to tell you...

i have a 51 octy and about 4 mths ago it failed the MOT at the dealer for erosion on the exhaust....i ask if they coudl show me... as i had been under the car and the main body of the exhuast looked like new come on its 2-3 years old! what they showed me is in the middle of the car the exhuast goes over a large bracket that is bolted to the uder side of the car on this bracket is a double V shaped peice of metal the exhuast sits in this V shape the exhaust is ment to be attched with a bit of welding to this V shape...the bit of welding they put on it in the factory is pea size and prone to rusting and breking away... the dealer woudlnt weld it back of for me they wanted some thing like

Yup sounds like the part I got sorted out. I got the local exhaust place to make me a new bracket for
