None S.E with leather values

Featured Replies

I'm in the market for a fabia, I've been lurking for a while and biding my time for the right car. I'd prefer to spend less than 4.5k with up to 90k miles. What's people's opinions on current values and what value does the leather option add to a car.

I won't name the seller but there is such a car for sale none SE, looks mint but the seller won't budge from 5295 it's an 06 with 60k.

Thanks!

I paid £4200 for my 55 plate with 60K miles nearly 2 and a half years ago. Leathers don't add that much value to a car.

Cheers DanHam, I offered 4700 but I'm tempted to just buy a regular one around the 4k mark and if it really annoys me swap it or retrim it.

If your not fussed about having actual Fabia leathers then Pulse on here regularly converts leathers from other models to fit Fabias :)

Interesting..... Cheers!

I REALLY don't want to offend anyone, but an 8 year old Fabia for nearly half what it cost new is just ridiculous, leather seats or not.

Heck, for £6000-ish you can almost get a Mk II vRS, although that's a different kind of oil-burner :)

I have no such qualms !

At the end of the day reality is reality, just some choose not to accept it (like Israel for instance)

Lets focus on what you are talking about, £5495 ONO for starters, but that was back in April?

Now forgive me for thinking ONO is somewhat more accepting that OVNO. If someone said OVNO, then I'd assume a bracket of £100 bartering.

ONO, well I'm thinking its more up to at least £250...and that was 4 months ago (1/3 of a year).

So presumably it wouldn't be that unreasonable to put in an offer around the £5K mark now then ??

Even that would be somewhat delusional pricing though. I wouldn't pay a penny over £4500 myself.....preferably less.....

However I know the "low miles" brigage might think its worth paying £2k over odds for the same car with 1/2 the miles, but sorry I'm not one of them.

I realistically am aware my car (which at least in loose terms is the same car on spec) is probably no more than £3k and you'd have to prise the keys from my cold dead hands.

At this point "age" counts in my opinion at least as much as miles. Its still an 8 yr old car, as so well put by all the above.

Leather worth spening a premium on ?

Well my Recaros cost me bugger all to put in, more effort than anything (£210 to buy, £40 for donors and I've still got the covers as spares for my wifes car, -£150 selling my clean set, and a bit of fuel). So thats what, £100 or so for some nice leather (with lumbar, plus option to enable heating and airbags if can be arsed to plug it all in)?

I've said this time and time again, go to wisebuyers for a hard reality check on car prices. Unsold "asking" priced on places like ebay or the classifieds (or dealers ads) really do count for naught I'm afraid. Or look at the "completed/sold" finished ads on ebay

In 2009 I paid £4500 for my 2005 vrs with 58k on it.

Priced are ridiculous for these. There not anything special and are no faster than modern people carriers. When I come to see mine later this year I'll be happy with a couple thousand lol

Another shout for Pulse he's a good guy and his works good as well.

Thanks for the replies, I know there's a lot of crap out there and I'm willing to spend a bit more for a better car. For me unless it's an SE then I can't see any being worth more than 5k. I'll just bide my time for the right car...... At the right price! I like the mk2 vrs interior which apparently is a straight swap so I think I might go that route.

Even if its an SE.....its just another Fabia but in a slightly racier blue with blue piped leather seats !

Yes they are a bit special.....but lets not get away from ourselves :D

I'd have a newer Octy petrol vRS instead all day long.......
