Hi, just bought a 2007 Fabia 1.9Tdi Elegance with 56k. I bought it from a main Dealer for £3790 with comprehensive history.

I wanted a cheap vehicle that would be very reliable and figured that it's not very glamorous but hopefully shouldn't let me down.

I've got a Parrot kit to fit (I put it in my last car and removed it), and I want to get DAB. I've got an old Pure Highway so may use that or get another unit that can connect to the Symphony via a Connects2 unit.

Do you guys think I got a reasonable deal, and can you suggest the cleanest, best way to install DAB?

Finally, do I need an adapter loom for my Parrot CK3100?

Cheers Nick

Hi Nick. Welcome. Probably best to post again with these questions in the Fabia section as not everyone reads this section. I'm sure there'll be plenty of wisdom there to help you. I would imagine that's a pretty effortless drive with the torque of the 1.9 PD in a Fabia bodyshell. I bet you get close to 60MPG too. Don't know anything about prices but since you've bought from a main dealer I would get the best value out of your investment by making good use of your warranty (which I'm assuming came with the car-3, 6 ,12 mth?). Check everthing out on the car from front to back, especially all the electrical gadgets (being an elegance) and get any issues sorted pronto. It's surprising what's miss when buying a car but find out within a week or two. It's also surprising what simple things you should be able to get replaced under warranty such as corroded badges etc. It's worth an ask, they can only say no! Hope this helps. :)

Hi Stinker, thanks for replying. Commuted today in it for the first time (130 miles round trip) and got 57mpg average, so not bad. I'll go over it with a fine toothed comb at the weekend!

Really, regretting that choice of name. D'oh!:blush:

57, not bad but there's more in there if you look for it! Personally I've found it's not speed that kills mpg but more to do with hard acceleration. Sounds obvious but the harder you put your foot down the harder it is on diesel. Gentler acceleration is key! All the best with the nit picking. Got my superb a couple of weeks ago and just noticed this morning in the mist that the passenger side heated mirror doesn't look like it's heating. Stuff like that's what to look for. Boy, this sounds really condescending, sorry wasn't meant to be! TBH A 1.9 PD Fabia Elegance sounds like a nice wee motor to me. All the best with it.
