Anyone ever managed to fit this in your boot?

Featured Replies

So off for a golf weekend in a fortnight with 3 mates, to save fuel costs we just want to take one car (octavia)

Question is, has anyone ever successfully had 4 sets of golf clubs and 3 trolleys in the boot of an octavia. Plus a couple of rucksacks/holdalls?

I'm pretty confident we can do it, octavia has never been defeated yet with it's laid carrying ability lol

What does anyone else think?

I've done it, you would need to cheat a bit and load to the roof though. We left the trolleys and took the hit by hiring one each day.

Was thinking I might need to leave the parcel shelf out at least, and also take the woods out all the bags until trolleys and clubs are in then lie them on the top

It will depend on how big the bags are to some extent and making sure your mates haven't got everything golfing except the kitchen sink in their bags. Taking the woods out of some of the bags is a good idea. Try lying them flat in the bottom of the boot top and tail style which should allow you to put at least 1 set in without taking the woods out. I'd take the wheels off the trollies too if you can and put the wheels and the exposed axles in carrier bags to keep the rest of your kit clean. Putting a blanket or such like over the top of the bags will help stop the trollies damaging the bags or bats.

Just slide your parcel shelf into the holder space behind the rear seat, you can then put it back in place when you are at your destination

That's exactly the way I was planning on doing it mate, just wondered if anyone had managed it before it sounds like you are talking from experience lol

damit I've been rumbled.....

yes, I get 2 cart bags and 2 wide wheel base powakaddies in my boot each week. I put the trollies in 1st then both bags go in behind the rear wheel arches without having to take any of the bats out. When we've been away in SWMBO Seat before that's how I did it for 2, though in that case I put the trollies in flat on the floor with the wheels off. As you say taking the woods out makes a big difference and you should be able to lie these in flat using the extra space behind the rear wheel arches. It just takes a bit of trial and error to find the right combo. Have a good time you lucky ......

Cheers mate, just hope this mint weather we've had holds out.

We play local once or twice a week and normally get 2 trolley bags and trolleys in no problem, then one of the other lads will meet us there with 2 in their car. We managed to get 2 trolleys, 2 trolley bags and a stand bag in on Monday morning though, but wasn't much room left.

We have got an excellent deal on playing at the belfry with accommodation and breakfast and evening meal, but with it being 180 mile each way we definitely only want to take 1 car.
