Hi nippy. I've owned a couple of the later shape mondeos, only 1.8 TDCI models though. Very good cars but too wide! Superb is a cruiser. Beautiful quality materials inside. You get a real sense of occasion as soon as you open the door. 170 TDI is a great engine which suits the car well. It can go but as I said it's a cruiser first and foremost. For me it's the best car this side of a 5 series. Hope this helps.
