I know many people dont like these engines as they get the title of being underpowered and uneconomical but hey people are entitled to there opinions but my opinion is that they are great little engines love mine 41000 current mileage here a few pics of it

Yeah mine was quite good for what it was! It's getting a bit of a different life now though

Its not a bad little engine is it, the HTP!

This place seems to be over ruled by vrs oil consumption threads etc. not enough of the HTP i think!

It does look sporty! I didnt realise you could get the sport with a htp. Thought they were all 1.6's of that time tbh.

Meh. They can keep their vrs. I do mpg in fuel, not oil.

Lmfaoooo taylor I have nothing against the vrs as they are gorgeous but I have heard so many bad things about them example there stupid dsg gearbox I can see why Skoda didn't spend that extra couple of pound and put a manual in like the mk1 vrs and they would of sold a lot more if they did other than the monto been more popular this is why I have heard that there dropping the vrs

Looks quite a nice little motor that! Also I have to say the number plate on the Monte is rather good ;-)

A DSG hardly cost the VWG less to fit to the Twinchargers than a Manual.

DSG Issues are not the just with the Mk2 vRS, it is the DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch box in many Skodas, VW's. Seats & Audis.

 

They are a wonderful Semi Automatic gearbox though IMO.

 

Your car is very nice, and looks great, but like the Monte Carlos there are not very many around, 

because even though the Monte Carlos have sold double the number that the vRS have, they are certainly not a great seller for Skoda the UK.

 

Everything that Skoda Spokespeople & Senior Execs say is not always true or accurate, it can be Media Spin.
