Just a couple of interesting points:

I am sure I have read somewhere that if the engine is changed from what was the original fitment type for that individual chassis number, then the VED is the default and the lower level is not used.

I thought I had read in one of your earlier posts that you had not fitted the cat. The inspector may check for this, he only needs to look under the car.

I had not fitted the cat - you could say this - I had it removed Yeeeeeears ago. ;)

If they really damn well insist on the cat being put back in for legal reasons I will, but I'll bloody tell them it still FLIES through an MOT emissions test without it.

So tax for diesels is now more expensive than the equivalent emissions from a petrol :mad:

Well, diesel emissions are nastier than petrol as the particles are smaller and more easily ingested. Good move by the government to try to cut down on the epidemic of asthma modern kids seem to be suffering from.
