I'm referring to the daylight driving lights. The ones that stay on during the day. I don't think they are 501 fitment though so you've answered my question

How many 501 bulbs are in the map lights? Is 2 pair enough for sidelights and map lights then?

Map lights are 2 and sidelights are 2. So two pairs does all.

I bought a few sets of these myself because they come in handy for all sorts.

In my Mk1 Octavia Vrs I've put 2 in the map lights, 2 in the sidelights and 2 in my number plate lights as mine take 501's instead of festoon ones for some strange reason.
