Main dealer service?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I recently picked up a monte carlo (after I got rid of my mk1 vrs earlier in the year due to leaving the country for a bit).

It's a 2012 monte 105 diesel. Done 30k with a revo remap from pretty much new. It'd had one service and coming up to its second as it's on the long service schedule. Done by a specialist not main dealer.

Since its just about to be due a large service, is it worth me getting it done main dealer to try and maintain a bit of good will out of warranty? Or has that been written off by the remap and the non dealer first service?

Basically... To main dealer. Or not to main dealer?

Cheers guys

What kind of Good Will out of Warranty from a Dealer, ?

The Warranty on the Engine is Void due to the Remap, and if the 1st Service was not at a Skoda Dealership you are as well to continue

servicing with the Specialist.

Thanks george.

I mean for example a gearbox, turbo or other major failure not long out of warranty they will usually honour or at least pay part of as it shouldn't be failing that close to warranty end date.

You think its a bit pointless spending the extra and just go for specialist?

The Manufacturer might give 'Good Will Gestures' on the Manufacturers Warranty out, maybe on a Standard Engine,

It is not the Dealership paying the costs.

If they will try to not Give Warranty Cover on the Turbo or Gearbox on a Modified Engine in Warranty, i doubt there is any Good Will on offer out of it.
