I understand that being part of the VWAG means that they share common parts but what's the difference between them? I'm a happy owner of a rapid but wondered if the seat had any nicer feature that I could buy and retro fit?

I understand both the Rapid and Toledo are built by Skoda and based mainly on current generation Polo underpinnings with the odd bit of Golf IV like the rear springs.

 

Jetta I don't know much about but It's probably Golf based, although which of the various platforms there have been underpins the current model I'm not sure.

I think Rapid is more beautiful than Toledo (don't tell my brother that, he is getting his Toledo in a week) but on the other hand I think Toledo is more equipped  than Rapid, at least in Greece. Jetta has nothing to do with them as it's a Golf with an extra trunk.

Agree that the Seat is a bit plain (bordering on anonymous).  Didn't even know it existed until I started reading up on the Rapid, and I really dislike the back end.

Been looking and all contenders and come to the conclusion the Toledo is better spec but as said looks much like the Ibiza from the front, the rear I like over the Rapid though.

 

I've really decided on a Rapid but waiting now to see what Skoda throw up re the Spaceback changes ie the dropping of the Elegance model, they may do the same for the all.

I think most of us agree that we prefer the rapid (that's why I bought one and I used to work for VW & SEAT) I am interested to know if there were some interchangeable parts... So those bits from the seat that make it a better spec for example.

Sure most people know already, but worth mentioning the jetta and a3 sedan both have a conventional saloon boot whereas the Rapid and Toledo both have the massive hatchback. I've driven both, albeit a long time apart and different trims, but I really couldn't see much difference.

There is a VW version and the Jetta isn't it.  The Shanghai-VW Santana is a Rapid/Toledo clone with blander styling and different engine choices but optional leather and wood interior! might suit some of the older folks on here

Don't forget the Indian market rapid is a rebadged Indian VW Vento designed to look like the Fabia mk2
