When you open a door, boot, etc do you get a diagram in the middle dash display showing which one is open? If you do then you've got maxi dot.

Can maxidot be installed or is it fitted when the car is at the factory

On some models it is standard fit or can be specced from new. However, it is possible to retro fit, a number of folk on here have done it. You'll probably need new instrument binnacle and some VCDS magic.

I'm sure you'll have Maxidot fitted as standard.

Im not... still there is possibility of multi functional display, which is no more green (as on preFL), but is whole black... the best indicator is car door visualization etc...

IF the little info window is all LCD (lit up and coloured) and not half LCD (black and white) with individual coloured lights below then it's Maxidot.

This is true for pre-FL, but not for FL (2009>).

 

On the FL the display is identical on non-Maxidot and Maxidot cars, it is just on Maxidot you get greater accessibility in terms of menu's and options.

What we have been able to determine so far is that the OP's car will not have had Maxidot fitted as standard here in the UK, it was a cost option on the Elegance spec.

 

Until the OP returns and confirms what menu options he has it is impossible to know for sure.

I created this years ago before the FL had launched, back then it was easy to make the differentiation...

 

On the FL, if you see advanced options such as those pictured below, you have Maxidot...

 

And this is FL DOT cluster, not maxidot, no setup menu etc...

 

I have come to the conclusion that my car elegance does not have maxidot. Thanks to all that replied to my post.
