When is the 0% finance coming back on the MY15 vRS ?

Featured Replies

Hi

Anyone got any info on when the 0% finance offers combined with the servicing packs will be back including the vRS?

Right now its on the skoda website, but when you click down to the actual vRS page it says 7.9%, and you dont get the free servicing.

This is the thing preventing me from ordering...

Thanks

Ian

The VRS is too popular so unlikely the offer will come back... bank interest rates are likely to rise so I wouldn't imagine they'll be back anytime soon...

hmm

maybe go buy an elegance instead haha

Not on Elegance either   2.9% on that and the L&K.

S and SE along with the Black Edition are only on the 0% PCP option.

pretty bobbins that. spend more = worse finance. You'd think they would want the extra money...

looks like I will wait and see what offers come up towards the end of the year when quotes need to be filled.

The VRS is a popular car and Skoda are not charging extortionate APR's when compared to other marques. Best talk to your Dealer and see what deals they can offer. They can generally give more off when they do not have to absorb the costs of low finance offers, so you may end up with a very simalar package anyway.

It's still 0% and free servicing on mine, if this helps?  :p

Can understand why SUK have gotten rid of 0% on the vRS and Elegance models....I suspect they underestimated how popular the O2 would be....did have the positive effect of helping them shift a lot of cars early on.

I suppose as the others have said, if VWFS are now making money on the vRS and Elegance there's probably more scope to strike a discount on these cars.....also expect that initial momentum/forward order book is now slowing a bit so they'll have to start doing something to entice more sales in due course once they've caught up on delivering their outstanding orders which they will do in a number of months.

I was just thinking the same thing myself, as I'm still toying with the idea of upgrading to the mk3 petrol from the mk2 diesel, before my mk2 looses too much money (plus the latest DPF scare).

But the finance would eat up any possible discount, and at £32k spec for spec it's a lot of money.

As said above, the current deal on the Octavia vRS (finance wise) is not that bad.

its not bad, sure. My last 3 cars were on the 7.9% APR

the issue is the list price is up, discounts are down, and for a similar spec car its about £4k more than I struck a deal at last time (around £19k for a DSG TDi Hatch, been quoted around £23k for the Mk3)

Granted some extra toys as standard now but I wouldnt have normally spec'd them, sadly. So while I appreciate its still good value for money and the car is better, I am working to company car allowance...

so the monthly costs on PCP are higher.... :/

I really want to upgrade to a MK3 but holding out now for another few months see if free servicing at least comes back.

I managed to get that on all the others....

Welcome to inflation!  Prices of just about everything have gone up, but it seems like Skoda are also repositioning themselves (or VAG are repositioning them) as a slightly less out-and-out-budget brand and more of a quality-budget brand.  The quality on the Mk3 is certainly lightyears ahead of the Mk2 (IMHO) - it's the first Skoda I've seriously considered having looked each time I've bought a car over the last 10 years or so, and not only did I seriously consider but I went ahead and bought one.

Personally I don't think they've been positioned as budget brand for a very long time. Good value for money and budget are totally different things.

Having said that, prices have definitely gone up over inflation in recent years. I bought a Skoda Superb estate in December 2010, about 8 months after launch when still in strong demand (6+ month wait) and ordered online at the cheapest price. I just replaced the Superb and again using online brokers - cheapest price was 13% higher. For the 4x4 Elegance estate there is very little spec change, heated windscreen only IIRC.

Difference for me was enough to consider another brand and Skoda lost out on a sale. Overall though, Skoda are enjoying very good growth in established markets like Europe aswell as new markets in Asia etc. So I don't expect them to change their pricing policy anytime soon.

cheers, Steve

The Felicia and pre-facelift Mk1 Octavia were probably the end of the Budget Brand days. They went through "keenly priced" and while they are still better value than some of the competition they aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

The point I was trying to make is that the quality seems to be a massive step-up in the Octavia Mk3.  There's now a definite clear gap between Skoda and SEAT, whereas I'm not convinced there was such a big difference before.  Apologies if that offends anyone on here, but that's my opinion

I think the biggest issue for the more long term Skoda owners is the mk2FL was such a steal of a price that it makes the mk3 look very expensive.

Spec for Spec (as close as you can get) the same car for me would be close to £32K which is a massive 12k more than my mk2FL. But in the defense of Skoda the list price for my mk2FL was £28k so in 4 years it's only increased by £4k which is not a great deal (I guess).

But the mk2FL also had 0% finance or/and low rate under 4.9%.

My Octavia is 5 years this December, but still feels and drives like new (maybe because it only has 33k on the clock), I do think it's getting to the age where it might start having issues and bigger bills to keep it going (DPF for one), but at the moment it doesn't make financial sense to make a change.

The last of the Mk1 VRS were sold for around £13k, 8 years ago. That really was a bargain at the time.

Going back to current prices, to anyone in your position considering an upgrade of a five or six year old car it may seem like quite a jump, but if you then go and price up an equivalent spec car from one of the competitors, you'll still see decent savings.

Q3 & Q4 2012 Mk2 FL Octy's were 20% discounted and therefore, do make the MK3 look expensive however, as it was the list prices that were discounted so this 20% will also show in the residuals for those vehicles making the current MK3 list prices seem a bigger jump.  I think the 2014 price rise and increased PCP rates do make the MK3's less attractive whereas, a Q4 2013 car not delivered till 14 or 64 plate was pre price rise with 0% PCP's and a few other goodies is gonna look great which will roll through on its residuals.

In short the MK3 is a good value car and no longer a GREAT value car although, I have the Elegance spec and its a very nice place/comfortable to spend time & on a discounted Q4 2013 price very reasonable too.

Which is my point I attempted to make albeit badly.

I just personally cannot justify £20k to upgrade at the moment.......though if I could then I'd change! ;)

It was a real trauma for me - my Mk3 wasn't far off double the cost of the Bravo that preceeded it - a combination of a 27% discount on the Fiat, it being a cheaper car to begin with an then five years of inflation.

Likewise for me. When I bought the Vectra in 07 I got 17% discount and 4 years 0% finance. Combined with a decent deposit (that a young family means i dont have this time!) and generous trade in Makes it a big leap this time
