Which clutch do i use.

Featured Replies

Hi i have a techniclutch smf kit but the clutch plate needs changing do i have to use techniclutch or would any clutch plate fit with it? Thanks

I would burn that clutch to hell. Infact the guy who owns the company should be burnt to hell aswell! Sold so many people crap clutches :(

Run as far away from Techniclutch as possible, and then a bit more

I think he has burnt that clutch already which is why he needs a new one!

Yes which is why I would replace the whole clutch kit with something better performance orientated if that's what the OP wants. Helix, Sachs, South bend etc :)

Wheres the best place for one and best price?

Sachs can be had from ECP or carparts4less at a reasonable price

Would any clutch plate fit though just to get me out of trouble?

What power are you running?

Not a sniff I would put up with the gearbox rattle from smf if didn't need to :)

Im hoping for 240bhp ish with gtb1756vk but i cant really afford to get decent make as of yet so wondered if i could get away with buying say a sachs uprated clutch plate and put on with techniclutch flywheel n cover...

Good luck with that target figure, the Sachs plate will fit just fine since the techniclutch covers are just remanufactured sachs covers painted red and with an uprated diaphragm spring.

Why you say good luck with that figure lol hidden powers had that from one also if a pd150 hybrid makes 240 im sure irl make it

Hey don't sweat it, there are many of us here who are amused by dyno numbers, I'm just one of them, I used to work with racing engines on a water brake and if you'd seen the claims and the reality that I have you'd be sceptical too. Like I said, good luck, I'm not saying it's not possible I'm just pinching yer bum cos you're new.

I have that turbo and also mapped by John @ Hidden Power, you won't be disappointed! ;)

Normal PD150 hybrids are typically only safe for about 220bhp unless you have a more expensive one with a billet wheel.

They're not as nice to drive as the GTB series though from what Dan and Kev have been telling me :)

Besides, it's the 'at the wheel' figures that are the important thing! ATFW is good for pub and car park talk though ;)
