Rapid Spaceback insurance ?

Featured Replies

Hi All, We have just insured our Spaceback with the co-op and the small print states panoramic glass roofs are NOT covered by the glass insurance, also checked an AXA policy and that says the same ! check to see if your covered. cheers - Stuart

mine wouldnt be either If I had one that is

Usually glass cover only applies to the side windows and front/rear windows. Sunroofs, regardless of type are usually excluded. If the glass on mine were to be broken it would cost a fortune to replace as it has solar panels panels embedded and must be replaced as a complete unit. The exclusion is there because of replacement costs, typically a LOT more than just windows.

You usually find that the roof will be covered, but not under the glass section, if it were damaged you would have to make a full claim as if you had been in an accident with the same excess as that, and along with the subsequent loss of NCD.

Hi

Yes unfortunately panoramic roofs are generally excluded from the windscreen section of car insurance. Claims would normally have to be made under the accidental damage side so it would be subject to your normal policyexcess and would be deemed a fault claim for insurance purposes.

Regards,

Dan.
