2011 vrs or 2013 1.4 tsi octavia

Featured Replies

Hi, this is my first post and know very little about cars but I am in the market for a new family car and have 100% decided on a Skoda Octavia, I really like the look of them, they seem really good value for money and tick all the right boxes for what I need in a car, I think!

I really like the vrs and have seen a 2011 diesel one that has done 35000 miles for £12690.

I have seen various mk3's for around the same price and like the sound of the 1.4 tsi se.

I know they are 2 different cars but was hoping to hear peoples advice/opinions on the 2 options. It will be used for me to go to and from work 4 days a week, a round trip of 24 miles and general every day use as a family car .

Thanks in advance.

Martin

with that sort of mileage I'd say for for the mark 3 1.4

Do you mean the mileage I do or the mileage on the vrs?

Hi, I'm guessing the reply relates to your lowish daily mileage and the ( possible ) DPF issues on the diesel. its seems at lower mileage the opinion errs towards petrol ( or an earlier non DPF diesel as indeed I've gone for ) I would respectfully point you towards the MK111 octavia forum regarding seat comfort and driving position on later cars, a longish test drive should help and point out any issues that may concern you.......
