Heated Washer Jets

Featured Replies

Ahhh thanks, I see it now:

  • The windscreen washer nozzles for the windscreen are heated when the engine is running and the outside temperature is less than approx. +10 °C.

To me that reads like it is a standard fitment, 10 °C is not that cold.   Not sure how to check ?

Every option is listed in the manual, doesn't make it standard.  My owners manual is for the hatch and combi, doesn't make my car both.

Schrödinger's Octavia  :p

Never had them and nerver really felt the need for them. When I have sat on heated seats they have always felt like a cross between wetting yourself and sitting on a pizza.

got a lift from a friend once who turned mine on without me noticing. Felt like I had had a "little accident" but I knew it wasn't true - was very confusing

I just want to know why RobbySpurs sat on a pizza in the first place? Sort of fetishism?

I really can't understand why Heated front windscreens are not standard on all cars in the UK, I had it on a Ford Focus, was absolutely fantastic, no scraping the screen and getting cold in the process, within a minute the screen was clear. I am looking forward to it on my new VRS TSI DSG and I ordered heated seats and a load of other options, roll on winter.

I had the heated jets on a MKI Octy and frankly they're pointless because if the screenwash isn't strong enough the stuff freezes in the pipes and if it is you don't need the heated jets (As confirmed on the MK2)

I'd save your £30.

It'll be different in the nordics, but not here.

Just use the washer fluid as instructed. If its freezing, you're using it wrong and needs to be less diluted. Neat is normally good down to minus twenty odd.

Can this be mounted aftermarket? I could not find any OEM pack on a quick search.
