Even the brakes?

Even the brakes?

I was thinking that.......more worried about engine noise when cold than faulty brakes!

The rears were done on it's first service a long time ago. They said it was a big build up of dust causing the squeal. They've not done it since.

When I heard the loud snapping noise I felt it through the pedal and it sank a little. The brakes now are rubbish even under heavy braking.

Are you still driving round in a car with defective brakes?

If the brakes are working correctly. it would point to the vacuum pump not having enough oil to create the correct vacuum. This in turn points to the top end of the engine being starved of oil. backed up by the tappets rattling their head off. So maybe a piece of crud/crap blocking one of the oil ways up stream of the pressure switch/relief valve. I would want a top end examination of the engine e.g. cam/tappet/follower wear!!!!

Not at all.

The brakes are binding at the moment that's all. Dealer can't do it until the 10th September as I said also no loan car until then. It's my only car at the moment and I need to get to work. I said to them if it pops in the meantime then it's down to them.

That's what warranties are for :)

You are letting the Dealership take the Pith.

If brakes are an Issue, and they say it is OK to drive with them, and there is no Courtesy car , you suggest the Sales Manager or one of his Sales People or even the Service Manager give up

the Demonstrator they drive as a 'Daily Drive', (Perk of the Job) & Drive yours until fixed.

AFTER ALL IT WILL TAKE LESS THAN 1 HOUR OF THE MASTER TECHNICIANS TIME TO INSPECT YOUR CAR, AND MAYBE EVEN REPAIR IT.

Or you call Skoda UK Customer Services, Raise a Case & get them to Arrange a Hire / Courtesy car.

Your Brakes are a Safety issue, and They have Corporate Responsibility, just as the Dealership has.

Who cares if the Dealership is Busy with New Registrations.

Thats the Best Time to go into the Showroom, when it is Busy and with a Loud Voice tell the Sales Manager about your car being Faulty and the Bad Customer Services you are receiving.

On New Registration Hand Over Day tomorrow,

they love it when Angry Customers are in the Showroom complaining about fault cars.
