Random beep

Featured Replies

Just driven back from town and noticed a random beep that kept happening. It's the first time I've driven at night in the car and never noticed during the day. The beep is quiet and has no set pattern. There's no warning lights in either

Any thoughts and it's a VRS TDi with only tints, armundsen and tow bar as options

Any idea where it was coming from within or outside of the car? Does it happen while stationary, while moving or both?

Was it more a bong than a beep? Also, did you notice what the outside temperature was? The reason I ask, my journey into Glasgow last night temperature read 5c. Just wondering if it was the ice warning bong.

If you are manouvering at lower speed & have parking sensors it could be the proximity beep.

I get this sometimes when rolling up to the back of traffic or driving round a tight car-park.

Often it only beeps once before the object is gone or the car is stationary & the infotainment display doesnt come on.

However, this is quite a clear beep & easily recongisable as the parking sensor sound.

In the Octavia I've got at the moment with the Borleo there is a quiet "bong" when the bluetooth connects - not sure if it's the same with the armundsen. It could be the bluetooth connecting and disconnecting for some reason?

If it is more a 'meep' than a 'beep' then a road-runner wants to pass you :D

Well.. at least I did not imply you did not know your 'beep' from your 'bong'

Was coming from the dash somewhere and I've only heard it at night and whilst driving at a normal country lane speed. Temp was over 10c. I drive 180 miles a day and never heard it until my first proper drive at night

Does the rear view mirror make a noise when it dims?

Are you in a poor radio exception area? The same thing happened  in my Superb and finally traced it to  the traffic info signal dropping in and out on the Columbus which can be heard when turned on but volume down.
