Featured Replies

Gunner be running a gtb1756 with tubuler manifold on my brother fabia vrs with airtec and full miltec what the best clutch option and price ? And where to get them from be great help

Company called cg motor sport. Very good clutches. Handles the power with ease

+1 on cg!!

I'm running a 1756 with the same spec as you've stated, also running a cg Motorsport clutch and it's handleing the power well!

I'm not going to openly slate on here, but if you're contemplating a CG setup then I would recommend that you do a search for threads on here first....

Do it once, do it properly - Helix with SMF

+1 Helix ftw

+2 not that I am biased or anything.

He's asked for a cheap set up that will cope with the power.. Unfortunately I don't think £900 is a 'cheap uprated clutch' 3 people have stated theirs are fine, but by all means have a search and decide for your self :)

I went for their dual set up with the smf and admittedly it is noisey but I'm happy with it, tbf Alex does have a point if you do a search on here.

Granted £900 plus fitting is hardly cheap for a clutch. However, I did not want the OP to fall into the trap of only hearing the good feedback from CG.

I've not heard a bad thing about the Helix. It is most certainly the real deal and can without question cope with what the OP wants - granted at an expense!

I paid half of that for my clutch and it still does exactly the same as your helix clutch so where's the extra £450 coming from? It's just the name as is with everything these days you just pay for the name.

all I'm saying is don't let people bad comments/ feedback put you off, especially ones whom don't even own a cg clutch.

It's expensive yes, but it's proven. I'm not saying that there aren't people that are perfectly happy with their CG clutch. However, the bad feedback (of which there is a fair bit!) for me is something of a concern. This doesn't just relate to the quality of the product either - it's also related to extremely poor customer service experiences. You pay your money and make your choice ultimately, and I'd rather not risk it.

As I said initially, I'm not slating CG personally, due to the fact that I haven't got experience of them. I was just pointing out to the OP that the place doesn't just have good feedback! They can make their own choice then after weighing up all the factors.

CG's setup is still relatively new compared to Helix, I wouldn't put them in the same boat just yet - by all means they could end up being the same, but yet to hear anyone with a CG setup that's lasted for a while (e.g 3 years). Someone pleas correct me if I'm wrong.

FYI the Helix clutch doesn't cost 900, that's the price inc the SMF and release bearing/CSC :-)

I've seen a helix destroyed within a year. It did take a hell of a lot of abuse though

My helix is awesome! The SMF rattle annoys me sometimes but It's done now and will handle pretty much everything thrown at it. Not that I probably drive it to warrant the helix being worth while anyhow!

The bad review of cg on here is down to one person. Pretty sure he will be along soon.....

They have a pretty bad rap on the Audi forums too

However much bad rep they have anywhere, I can't speak highly enough of them. Helped me out no end.
