fabia 1.2 engine cover

Featured Replies

Should the 1.2 HTP Classic have a engine cover?

Yes it should as that holds the air box and air filter in it unless car is modified

Has a Air Filter on right facing aft. Can this be replaced by built in one.

Mk1 Fabia's had a cover, but our Mk2 Fabia doesn't.

How do you tell the different MK's of Fabia

What year is the car?

I think the crossover point from Mk1 to Mk2 was 2007. Mk2 initially trim level 1,2 & 3, then S, SE, Elegance.

2005 on a 54 plate

Its a mk1 then! Any idea on if it's 6or 12v and how many bhp?

thank you Jack, its a 6 valve 54hp. But now very puzzled by the engine code Log book and label in boot say it's BMD, can find no trace of this code.

Any how engine cover fitted although it was not built with one fit's a treat,i'am sure it idles smoother, time will tell.

Yup I was going to say it should have an engine cover :)

Not all (Mk1) 6 valve 1.2s got the engine cover / airbox combo.  Lots of the photos I've seen of Fabias with the 6v engine have the separate airbox, and no cover.  No idea why.

As above. Some 6v 1.2's didnt get the engine covers.

All 12v's did.

I've got an engine cover lying about somewhere :)
