I am relatively new to the site. I have owned my vRS for about 6 weeks. The car is on a 61 'plate' in red with the black pack but silver wheels. I am yet to see another red vRS yet. I have always had quick cars including a Corsa SRI track day car, 2 x Fiesta ST's, Corsa VXR (heavily modified) and now the vRS. All i can say is that it is very quick. The VXR was very hardcore and not very forgiving to drive and the fiestas were very underpowered for a 2litre. I wont be getting the vRS to the power of the VXR but they are 2 completely different cars.

 

At present, we have a fabia and a Astra elite 1.7. It is a very nice car but we are looking to change soon for a Superb estate as we are looking to start a family. I am currently having some warranty work done to do with the oil consumption and all i can say is the dealer i am using, Progress Skoda Bedford are being very helpful. They have done the first oil consumption test and is on again on Thursday for the second test and some modified breather hoses and an ECU update. I will keep you posted on the progress @ Progress!!

 

Back to the car, I bought the car with 30k on the clock and had been serviced every 5k. The car has only got the cruise control as an option along with the black back. I chose this car over others as i wanted red with the black pack but with silver wheels. 

 

The bits I have done to the car is mudflaps front and rear, mats, and made the exhaust a black tip style, (not a huge fan of chrome exhausts)

 

The next future modifications are going to be:

• Lower on coilovers (not suer which brand yet)
• Whiteline ARB
• Miltek back box and remove the centre silencer.

Anyway time for some photos. I gave it a 6 hour clean. I am a bit OCD about clean cars.

Looks good in all red with the black pack. Silver wheels are a nice change.

Nice choice . Mine is red with silver wheels as well but no black pack.

Shame you've discovered it's got oil consumption problems so soon into ownership. Sadly it's very rare that the breather pipe mod is successful so you will probably be looking at needing a new engine next :-(

You won't be disappointed with the Milltek catback exhaust. I had one on my previous vRS hatch and it was great.

I am hoping the car gets a new engine tbh and they get to the bottom of the fault.

may I suggest the H&R anti roll bar? its stiffer and doesn't use droplinks

All together would be cheaper, but if money is tight, do the ARB first. You might find you don't need anything else. It really does make a difference on this car. I held off for quite a while as the one I did on a (last generation) Focus didn't really make that big a difference - obviously, that car was closer to "ideal" in stock form than a Fabia is.

I only did amateur track days in the corsas.

The first was a 1.4 Sri, but I tried my hardest to get as much power as I could but insurance was the biggest issue. It was lowered on Coilovers, home made strut braces, seats out, air con out, bucket seats from the Vxr. I had to keep it relatively user friendly as it was my daily driver. I used to go donning ton park, Malory and a couple at snetterton.

ITB fitted or standard?

Just a standard. Was pointless spending too much on power as only a 1.4 but handling wise, best handling car I had. Vxr was too front heavy, st was very stable but I will make the fabia less like a boat at sea lol
