safety camera detector

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried a Snooper Laser Pod camera detector in their Octy. Would it work behind a heated screen with all those thin wires.

Didn't even know anyone still used these, laser detectors are pointless unless you've got reactions that are literally faster than light.....

So they are to good to be true then, just wondered. I won't bother. Ta

As far as I'm aware they will only work once the Lti has fired and by then it's too late anyway. As for static camera boxes, you can see those a mile away usually.

The static ones show on copilot, which I only use when away from my area.

There was a professional photographer bloke who rigged strobe lights beside the number plate, triggered by an optical sensor by the flash.

To "white out" the image taken by the speed camera.

Not sure if it actually worked.

Anyway he got done, so it probably did work, on reflection.

As a penalty evading strategy a bit noticable I ud have thought was its major drawback..

Much easier to have an automatic garage door opener that happens to work on the same frequency as the guns. They fall into a grey area in that they have a harmless use, but just to happen to scramble the detectors radar.

My brother had one of them jammers got clocked speeding but not stopped because the gun blanked this happened twice the third time pulled over, cop could not find anything except what looked like a garage door opener he was warned to remove the jammer even if they could not prove at the time it was one, perverting the course of justice was mentioned, me I would have kept it just slowed down in that area.

I've never been caught to date, and frankly rarely speed, but the underhand tactics they use it would be nice to have a safety net of a door opener. For him to have been caught 3 times is just reckless! As you say, if you find a hotspot they often sit in just slow down there!

Slow down or have a gadet with the the gpsworld database.

I thought all speed camera detection devices had been made illegal, whether radar or other.

Not sure but my eyes aren't illegal and they've let me down :D

Detectors are legal (although radar/laser ones may not be soon - GPS ones are not under investigation). Jammers are illegal and have been since 2006.
