Excessive in my eyes

In mine also however i dont want to replace them if thats how they should be lol

I once had a car with that much movement due to wear and the steering was a bit vague. What's yours like on tramlines, small bumps and other minor disturbances?

excessive  as the actual bush is not stopping the wishbone movement. Looks like the bush has come away from the wishbone

Fine in those respects tbh. Nothing untoward while driving. MOT on thursday so was just giving it a quick check over. I cant remember how much movement was in them last year tbh.

Defo excessive mate time to up rate perhaps ?

Oem will be fine for me :)

Excessive

It isn't excessive. It will pass (it should pass) the MOT fine. MOT standards are extremely low.

MOT point of view = Fine, no problems, probably won't get advised

Service point of view = A fair amount of movement, recommend to replace them

Enthusiastic driver, wants the best from the car = replace with poly bushes!

Replace with oem Audi tt ones

Replace with oem Audi tt ones

Agreed!

Replace with oem Audi tt ones

I did this and certainly they are lot better than standard. The car isnt as comfortable over pot holes etc but they will last a lot longer and it holds the road loads better.

Arr yes good idea :)

Are there any other audi TT bushes that can be done at the same time?

Not really. I was told the other bush in the front wishbones doesn't really wear. A common problem with the front suspension is the plastic collars on the front ARB crack so unless you've already had that rectified it would be worth getting it checked when the bushes are done.

Is there a certain TT bush? The 1.8 engined ones have the same part number as the VRS as far i can tell. Is the 3.2 different?

P/N 8N0 407 181 B.

That's the one I used. They are pretty solid bushes compared to the standard one as they have no voids in the rubber so should last a very long time. I can't remember how much they were unfortunately. I also fitted them myself using a homemade press!!

Thanks meaty

No problem buddy. As I've mentioned before though they are a little harsher over bumps but not overly so. I was thinking about maybe dropping my tyre pressures a little bit to compensate.

Advised on MOT. Along with a few other bits. Will get them changed soon

But did she pass ?

Glad it's passed mate I always hate mot day even though your 99.9% certain its ok!. I'm pretty sure they dont fail them on movement if the rubber was perished or split though it would fail. Seems daft to me but hey!
