Mudflaps

Featured Replies

I ordered some rear mudflaps from Butts about 3 months ago, which have now finally arrived despite being well overcharged for p+p (don't get me started on the service I have received!)

Anyway, the rears came in an unsealed bag with no screws. My question is simply should there be some????

I'm guessing you could use the existing ones? If you take a look at the rear bumper lip, where it meets the arch liner, it should be 3 screws, the mudflap sits with those 3 screws as well as the bumper.

Thats how it is on a PD100 and I'm sure its the same.

Have a look at the car and if you arent sure, I'll try for a picture of mine.

I thought I may be able to use the existing ones but that's not the point - Butts have been USELESS.

I'm sure there is one screw though that I will need, the one that is kinda underneath, if you know what I mean

Erm, rear mudflaps aren't officially available for the VRS - unless somethings changed in the past month?

People on here have fitted them, but only by modifying some front ones. This is because the rear bumper is different to everything else in the Fabia range.

I've got a set of Fabia Hatch rear mudflaps here (for fitting later today), Part No. KEA 400 013. The sealed bag contains 2 Mudflaps (RH and LH) and a small poly bag containing 2 Dome headed screw and 2 'U' shaped clips which obviously fit onto the bodywork through which the Dome headed screw affixes to. So it looks like you are missing the screws and clips.

How does one modify the rear bumper to make them fit?? !!

Found the thread - doh !!!

Thanks - Butts are going to get a very stern phone call from me very soon, especially as they double charged me for my p+p! :finger:

Fitted my rear mudflaps today, following Hellfires excellent guide. just 2 things to be aware of -

1. Use a VERY sharp knife to trim away the edge of the rear bumper. The material is surprisingly easy to cut neatly, and to trim up if you wobble a bit. I reduced the width of this by about 50%.

2. The spring clip, supplied with the mudflaps, which locates under the rear of the bumper is a bit awkward to get in the correct position. I used a Stanley knife to carefully ease the inner and outer bumper skins apart, just around the existing hole, the clip then located quite easily.

Took me about 2 hours to fit these, but I also took the opportunity to clean the inside of the wheels, wheel nut caps, and the brake calipers which are now bright and fresh again.

Glad to be of help :).

It seems that everyone who fits the rear mudflaps has slightly different experiences on exactly how to fit them, however the overall benefit is the same, no more stone chips/tar/muck on the rear arches.

The mudflaps attach using the existing 3 screws in the wheel arch plus an additional screw for each side that should be supplied with the flaps.

delroy- P & P? so they actually delivered them to your house? Never actually thought to ask for parts to be delivered, I've always gone to pick them up.

woohoo, i now have a full set of mudflaps
