several enoyning falts

Featured Replies

My wife's mk1 2.0 elegance has developed a number of enoyning fault at the moment. The first is the rear nearside passenger door will not open with the central locking, the button pop's up half way but that's it.The second is that when you start the engine you get the sound of zzzzz from the starter motor which I thought could be a dry bendix gear or something like that and the last thing is when ignition is turned on we get bulb / light warning on dash but have no blown bulbs or faulty lights but obviously there is a fault somewhere. Your help with these problems would be helpful.

Car is a 2003 Fabia mk1 2.0 mpi elegance.

Cheers

Jim.

My near side rear door does the same lol, never got round to sorting it though. No-one gets in that door anyway as my chair's always fully back. But if there's an easy fix I'm game!

Its possible the door motor has failed so doesnt have enough strength to actually pull the mechanism to open the door so its just bouncing back to locked. Will need a new motort to sort that.

If starter moter is making a noise after start up sounds like its getting stuck engaged and over spinning? Again probably need a new starter motor.

Not sure on your last one, dodgy earth may be? Sure youve no bulbs out anywhere?

Some one could scan it for you with vcds to see if anything else shows up?
