Hi all, just to introduce myself

I am a first time Skoda buyer/user and first popped in here whilst making a decission on what make/model of car I would find most useful

After buying the Skoda, I registered here so I could gain more knowledge in what I have, and enjoy the information shared

Well all thanks for the welcome, and I got "ERNIE" (Grandaughter choice of name) this morning

ERNIE is really nice and very quick,I have not and do not intend to thrash Ernie, but the acceleration is tremendous (1.9TDI) I will not believe the MPG from the first hundred miles on the trip meter, 80 on the motorway and still accleration to go faster was instant and wanting to go, but I did not want to have my photo taken or endanger any other road users, Just tried it to see bloory ell it wanted to give me more :)

and compared to REDGIE THE RENAULT 19 1.4 Petrol ERNIE will have paid for himself in two years :D with fuel costs alone

Of course I have had all the snide comments from the uninitiated work collegues about a Skoda, I have twice the motor at a greatly reduced price than they will ever have with that attitude

I do not need to tell you all on here about the build and trim quality engine etc I know it they do not, and appear fools to me

I was going to go for the Octavia at an excellent price top of the range (apart from vrs) ex demonstrator with 450 miles for

Hi there. Good choice.

I do an average of about 40/day with occassional 100 mile trips but it had to be the Octy for me especially with the family and all.

Welcome :orb_wave: to one of the ( not so ) best kept secrets - Skoda Ownership :)

Like you I only have occasional SWMBO ( rugrats rarely ) and myself using the car ( me mainly), and needed a car for the same reason, 80 miles per day to work, garaged at weekends. Would have liked an Octy ( waste of a V good car).

Went for black Furb vRS, never been more delighted.

You should enjoy quite a few trouble free miles. :)
