I've spotted a few cars on auto trader recently that state that they were built for Indian markets and cannot be UK registered. Some of them are brand new! What is the difference (they are RHD) and why are they for export only? 60k cars for 25k

    could be emissions, build specification, safety regulations - lack of airbags / inertia reel seatbelts / abs.... Lots of potential areas it could be.

    It can only be these cars are not 'Type Approved' for the Euro Market.  The spec must be downgraded as 'mac11irl' describes above to make them affordable in the Indian market.
