Any plans for next year ? Here is mine

Featured Replies

I say next year because I'm too close to moving house to really invest much time into my Fabia this year!

Plus I have a finanicial thing coming to finalisation next year - which mostly I could put to paying off my repayment mortgage but no harm in keep a bit for sorting the car out is there !

I've done the 2nd timing belt and pump change so its pretty good but still things I'd like to sort out.

So I'm thinking:

Refurb alloys again in anthracite removing any imperfections. I'm just sorting the wheel kindly sold to me by Blaco, its starting to look sweet and after I've let the paint go off, can have it switched with my other which is losing some air (and might be one that I have been told is slightly buckled)

Redo some minor damage previously repaired on my pillar

(looks okay at distance, but if you look at close distance particularly at some angles its clearly not 100% flat) plus another very slight dent that is left at the bottom of my passenger door (was quoted £60 but I reckon my dad would probably fix it free).

Replace the original Turbo/clutch (uprate/remap time? other stuff? Oh and check the insurance!)

Remove the Recaros and make them even nicer with a refurb kit so they look new!

I think this is a modest but achievable list which won't break the bank and nothing like keeping your relationship sweet with your beloved motor is there. Not talking full lax bowels stickers and all that, just modest stuff (maintenance mostly but maybe a bit of tweaking!).

I'm in the same boat at you by the sounds of it!

I bought my house in October and have stripped it right back, i plan on moving by the end of the month!

Any spare money I've spent on the car so my list of mods I have, but still sitting in box's are!

- PD160 Intake

- Jabbasport Cone in a box filter

- Darkside developments Silicone Intake pipe

- Solid metal Boost pipes

- THS Seat sport Intercooler

- Allard EGR Delete

- Green vac pipes

- Braided fuel pipes

- Oil catch can

- ARL pd150 head bolts

- head gasket + head set

- timing belt kit and water pump (not due btw!)

Only waiting to buy a turbo and possibly injectors, but know I won't get a chance now untill next year :(

Well the house move is important; it means more space, not working in the street and more car space for more cars !

That's where things will get interesting. I've got a proper working size garage with pit and I think some kind of support beam !

I'll hopefully get the 160vvc mgf from my dad I think...now that is a car that actually shows up on the classics of honest john

Interesting to see the number of cars isn't that much different ! Except theres a far bigger proportion of cars on SORN with the MG's than the vRS lol.

Impressing to see how few sorn there is on the vRS actually !
